The first round of the 2019 PGA Championship is in the books. Given the difficulty of Bethpage, there were some surprises on Day 1 — most notably from the current leader, who navigated his Pro V1 golf ball masterfully around The Black Course and tied the PGA Championship record for low score with a 7-under-par 63. Pro V1x player Danny Lee also went low, recording eight birdies en route to his opening round of 6-under 64.
Don't expect a slew of performances like these, though. The Black Course has plenty of fight left and with rain in the second-round forecast, the Tillinghast masterpiece will stretch out and only play tougher.
When conditions get more difficult and golf courses play longer, the best players in the world can rely on extra gear to produce more power.
Wouldn't it be great to be able to hit shots with a little more "oomph" when you need it? Well, we have just the ticket, thanks to Titleist staff member Mark Crossfield. Check out his drill in the video above and feel how putting more force into the ground will put more force into your shots.
