Two holes in one in less than 30 minutes

A golf rarity happened this weekend in Statesville, NC at the Lakewood Golf Club...

Here we are some golf buddies playing their weekly round of golf. Just like many golfers do, we each put some cash in the pot($10) before we start. The one that gets the closest to the pin on the par 3's gets $10, the rest of the pot is shared amongst the players with the best scores. Saturday we were with nine players devided in 3 threesomes.

In the first group we have our oldest player Jim P. holing the Par 3 hole 13 from the Gold tee (125 yards) in one! The rule is to put a tee in the green to show the next group how close the shot to the pin was. When the 2nd group walked on the green of hole 13 they noticed a tee stuck right next to the cup which explained that someone holed it in one! While walking of the green and still somewhat in shock of what happen there, here is Doug W. asking to his fellow players what would happen with the greenie money if someone else holes it in one! Guess what? While he was asking the question they were watching my ball hitting, rolling and dropping in the cup.

The first ball that landed on the green was about 20 feet short still a great shot form Dennis W. owner of Lakewood Golf Club hitting from the blue tee. The 2nd shot was mine, Dennis warned me to consider an extra club due to strong wind facing us. I normally hit a 6 iron from the white tee but knowing he wasn't kidding I decided to go with a 5 iron. The third player in our threesome Don B. also hit his ball on the green but a little more right.

While arriving at the green the group in front of us was asking repeatedly who hit the 2nd shot. I looked at the green and realized that there were only two balls on the green, from that moment I knew I just made the best golf shot of my life!
