Titleist golf ball loyalist So Yeon Ryu (New Pro V1) captured her fifth career win on the LPGA Tour at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship in record-setting fashion.
Ryu finished two shots clear of runners-up Amy Yang (New Pro V1) and Moriya Jutanugarn (Pro V1x), who posted the best finish of her career. Each of the top three players relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.
The 26-year-old from South Korea fired a single-round record 10-under-par 61 on Saturday, which resulted in a new 36-hole standard for the event at 16-under-par.
With a final round 69, Ryu recorded an 18-under-par 195 victory total, setting a new tournament record previously set last season.
Ryu, who won the ANA Inspiration in April for her second major title, becomes the first two-time winner of 2017.
With this win, Ryu vaults to No. 1 in the official Rolex Rankings as she heads into the second major of the year this week, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Olympia Fields outside Chicago.
“I can still see, you know, a bit of things to work on,” Ryu said, “but I’m glad to win the tournament and I’m ready to play another major next week.”
Congratulations, So Yeon!
