Will Zalatoris (left) and Davis Riley (right) are both Titleist Ambassadors and roommates.
PGA TOUR
Titlest once again lead the field in golf ball count with 89 (68%) in play at the Memorial Tournament, more than four times the nearest competitor (15). In addition to golf balls, Titleist was also the field favorite in hybrids (13/30%), utility irons (28/41%), irons (31/24%) and wedges (179/49%).
KORN FERRY
Titleist Brand Ambassador Davis Riley captured the TPC San Antonio Championship to become the first player to win twice on the Korn Ferry Tour this season having also won the Panama Championship in February. Riley birdied three of the last four holes en route to a closing 5-under par 67 and 16-under 272 victory total. He finished two shots clear of two players, including Paul Barjon (Pro V1x) at the tour's second consecutive event at TPC San Antonio.
Seeking a Promotion: Riley is now one win away from the three-wins in a season “Battlefield Promotion” to the PGA TOUR. The feat has been accomplished 11 times in the Tour’s history, most recently in 2016.
CHANGING PLACES
Riley vaulted from third position to the top of the Korn Ferry Tour points race for 25 PGA Tour cards, passing his fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador, and roommate, Will Zalatoris in the standings. Zalatoris won the TPC Colorado Championship two weeks ago to pass Riley in the rankings. Zalatoris, who was waiting to congratulate Riley on the 18th green, finished T5 this week and has now posted five consecutive top-10s, one shy of the Tour’s record in that category. The pair, who live in Dallas, now hold the top two spots in the standings.
COUNTING ON TITLEIST EQUIPMENT
In addition to leading the golf ball count with 108 (69%) in play, more than five times the nearest competitor (19), Titleist was also the field favorite in drivers (39/25%), hybrids (23/37%), utility irons (35/39%), irons (47/30%) and wedges (230/51%).
WHAT’S IN DAVIS RILEY AND WILL ZALATORIS’ TITLEIST BAGS?
Davis Riley carries four different models of Titleist irons in his winning bag. According to Titleist Tour representative Dino Antenucci, Riley prefers the look of the transition of the offset with his combo set, as well as their feel and flight.
Despite being roommates, competitors and ‘rivals’ going back to their junior golf days, other than both playing the same 2019 Pro V1 golf ball, Riley and Zalatoris’ Titleist set compositions could not be more different. See their setups below:
