Weekly Highlights
• After another four-win weekend for Titleist golf ball players, the season long win count across the worldwide professional tours advances to 130. That’s nearly six times the nearest competing brand with 22 golf ball wins.
• It was a Titleist Pro V1 1-2 finish at The Northern Trust where the winner closed with a 2-under 69 to finish at 16-under 268, one shot clear of runner-up Abraham Ancer.
• Titleist was the top choice across the golf ball, driver, hybrid, utility iron, iron and wedge categories at the first event of FedExCup Playoffs.
• On the LPGA Tour, M.J. Hur (Pro V1) posted six birdies over her final 10 holes en route to a four-stroke victory at the Ladies Scottish Open
• Bo Hoag (Pro V1x) topped the leaderboard at the WinCo Foods Portland Open on the Korn Ferry Tour.
• Titleist Brand Ambassador Hayden Buckley captured his first career victory on the MacKenzie Tour.
• Once again, Titleist was the overwhelming top choice for players at the U.S. Women’s Amateur with 88% of the field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball for their success.
PGA TOUR
It was a Titleist Pro V1 1-2 finish at The Northern Trust where the winner closed with a 2-under 69 to finish at 16-under 268, one shot clear of runner-up Abraham Ancer. The event marked the start of the FedExCup Playoffs, and the winner vaulted from No. 50 in the standings to No. 2, just one spot behind the leader, a multiple major champion who also chooses to play the Titleist golf ball without an agreement.
• Four of the top five finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.
• Ancer, who also closed with a 69, advanced from No. 67 to No. 8 with his best-ever PGA TOUR performance. He played bogey-free over the final 12 holes … He is now a lock to make it to the TOUR Championship and earned a spot on the International team for the Presidents Cup, making him the first Mexican in the event.
• Harold Varner III (Pro V1x), who started The Northern Trust at No. 102, finished in a tie for 3rd, one shot behind Ancer, and raced up the standings to No. 29. The performance gets him into the BMW Championship and a chance at the TOUR Championship, reserved for the top 30 following next week’s event.
• Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott (Click here to see his equipment) fired a final round 6-under 65 and finished solo 5th. He moved up seven spots to No. 14 and will be a lock for East Lake.
• The top 70 in the FedExCup advance to the BMW Championship at Medinah. Working his way up the leaderboard, Joaquin Niemann (Pro V1x) closed with a 66 to finish in a tie for 30th and move up four spots to secure the 70th position in the FedExCup Playoff standings.
• The win advances the 2018-19 PGA TOUR victory total for Titleist golf ball players to 24, four times the nearest competitor (6) and more than all other golf balls combined.
• A total of 86 (71%) players teed up a Titleist at The Northern Trust, more than six times the nearest competitor with 13.
• Titleist was also the top choice across the driver, hybrid, utility iron, iron and wedge categories.
LPGA
M.J. Hur (Pro V1) posted six birdies over her final 10 holes en route to a four-stroke victory in soggy conditions at the Ladies Scottish Open.
Hur made four consecutive birdies on holes No. 9 through 12 at the Renaissance Club and also birdied Nos. 16 and 18 for a closing five-under par 66 and a 20-under 264 victory. The win was the third of her LPGA Tour.
• Moriya Jutanugarn (Pro V1x) and U.S. Women’s Open champion Jeongeun Lee6 (Pro V1x) tied for second place, while Ariya Juntanugarn (Pro V1x) finished solo 5th, as four of the top five finishers relied up Titleist golf balls for their success.
• Hur’s win marks the 18th by Titleist players on the 2019 LPGA Tour, six times the nearest competitor (3).
• Titleist was the overwhelming field favorite in golf balls with 134 (86%) players, more than 16 times the nearest competitor (8).
