Titleist golf ball loyalist Katherine Kirk (New Pro V1) won the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic on Sunday, closing with a dramatic birdie on the final hole for a one-stroke victory.
“To make that putt (on 18) was huge,” said Kirk. “Winning out here is hard, and it’s gotten a lot harder out here since I first did it, that’s for sure. There is so much talent out here now and it makes it so much harder to win, but hard work pays off. I’m grateful for the opportunity to still be playing, and I still love it.”
Kirk finished at 22-under-par 266 in the inaugural event near Green Bay, WI.
It marked the third career LPGA Tour title for the 35-year-old Australian, and her first since the 2010 Navistar LPGA Classic.
Titleist golf ball loyalist Sei Young Kim (New Pro V1) finished in solo third place following a final round 63, two shots behind Kirk.
Congratulations, Katherine!
