    Looking at purchasing new AP 2's, replacing my  old AP 2 710's.  I had my swing speed tested today averaging 73 mph with a 6 iron average carry distance was  154 yards.  The fitter suggested I stay with a s300 shaft, but everything I have read says that I should look at the r300.  Really torn between the two.  I am 58 years old, 9 handicap, hitting a slight cut.  Looking for advice.

    Hi Jack,

    There are many factors that go into selecting the right shaft for your irons outside of swing speed; such as launch angle, spin rate, dispersion, etc.  Your fitter may have suggested S300's because they improved one of these factors more than the R300.  Ultimately, it comes down to what you are most comfortable with and what set up will improve your game the most.
