Hi Cook, to be honest, you should try and find a location where someone who is professionally qualified to help you find the right ball for your game.

It would be easy for me to say pick the ProV, pick the X, but that would just be providing a bias opinion....Do yourself some justice and get an Pro or Fitting Professional to really help you out...

Thanks Joe I guess that's the main problem I need to find a ball that I can play all the time. Have gotten a sleeve of each of titelist offerings and been testing them out the dt truesoft is surprisingly decent lol.

If you are spending a lot of time out of bounds, then you need a ball they you can rely on that will not kill your pocketbook. Go with the DT TruSoft. It is an inexpensive ball but yet well performing ball. Yes, you will come up a few yards short on your drives versus the Prov1, which is now a very long ball. Sometimes sacrificing accuracy is a plus and it holds well around the greens. I play the Prov1, but have used the DT as a back up ball in the winter months. Think you will be pleased with its performance.

No and yes. Velocity too hard and NXT does not perform as well as the DT TruSoft, in my opinion. Keep in mind I play the Prov1 99% of the time.

Try them all see what is most comfortable for you and what feels best

Obviously your a Titleist guy, so if you're worried about YOUR accuracy and wet conditions I would suggest trying the Titleist Velocity ball. It's Titleists distance ball. ....madgolfer...HITEMSTRAIGHT!!!

Even balls that are "low-spin" off the driver will hook and slice, so I guess a question would be which is more important - low-spin or cost? The NXT Tour is a low-spin ball that launches high, is fairly long and has moderate green side control, but since you're playing in soft/wet conditions everything that hits the greens will probably stick. Price wise the NXT Tour is mid range...less than the Pro Vs, but more than the DT TruSoft. Back to cost...for soft/wet conditions with lots of water and you might want to save some money and go with the DT TruSoft, which as Chuck says is a very good all-around ball.

Thanks Barry I picked a nxt tour up on course it was a pretty amazing ball. I do think I'm leaning toward pro v1 or dt true soft...

I'd say DT Trusoft or NXT S, both balls are good. NXT will give you a bit more distance on all shots and with the soft conditions the greens will hold your approach shots with most balls. I use the NXT Tour S during colder months because of the distance and low spin. I play the V1 most other times. BUT as it has been stated the best thing if you have time before your event. Find a Professional Titleist fitter and get the right ball fitted for your swing it will say you money down the road no matter which ball they choose for you.

Just curious as to why you need a ball for a tournament .
I just play my normal ball .
Whether I am playing a normal round of golf or playing in a tournament I do not switch balls due to a course or conditions.
All Titleist balls are low spinning off the driver.
Where the difference comes in is on scoring shots and one's ability to flight a ball in to check up and stop,or hit it high and land soft.
If you are worried about price and lost balls then I would say the DT Tru. Soft.
Great ball at a fair price.

Based on your comments I would agree and say pro v1. If you have time I would go do a ball fitting but if you can't it sounds like the pro v1 would be best for you.

Word of advice: If you're worried about OB try to groove a stock shot (cut shot) or something that can get you in play when you're nervous.
