  1. i placed an order through a pro shop for a scotty cameron newport 2. i asked the owner of the shop to check with his rep if i could get a large matador grip instead of the stock medium? has anyone done this? i was told it was possible and the only color option was red.

  2. putter is on back order :( waiting for more newport 2 heads

Normal NP2 production was probably bumped for NP2 TERYLLIUM T22 production.

I did do this for my squareback. But different. Ordered at golftown and they ordered the large matador and switched it for me.
The large matador is REALLY thick. Different and larger than a super stroke 3.0. if that is helpful.
I eventually switched again for a new super stroke Claw with weight plug.
    Hope that helps.

Andrew ... I was able to do something similar too. I ordered a different SC Grip through my local Pro-Shop and they brought it in. Golf Town can do the same as well.

It helped that I had also spoken to the SC folks on the telephone to source things so that I could relay the information to the Canadian location that placed the order for me. Of course, this was about 4 years ago that I did that and things seem to have improved significantly in this department since.

  9. I just changed from the Newport 2 Cameron and Crown to the Phantom X 5.5. I went from a mid-size grip to a standard one. So far, I am completely happy with the new stock grip. I can always change later. I also went back to 34 inch from a 33 inch. Again the results today have been nothing but positive.

ya i ended up contacting titleist since i havent received my putter yet, and they told me it had to come out of california since it was custom (grip change). The heads were on back order but if i went with standard grip they had them in stock. So they shipped out the putter today and are suppose to be sending me a large matador grip to get put on locally when available.
