I had been a dedicated ProV player for many years. I would often use the ProV1 during the spring and fall when the temps were cooler, and then switch to the ProV1x during the hotter weather in the summer. It is highly likely that the difference was more a matter of feel than actual science, but I am sure that we can all say that about some part of our game. A couple of years ago I switched over to the Titleist AVX in Yellow. First of all, the yellow is so much easier for my old eyes to follow and the colour chosen by Titleist for their AVX is excellent and holds up extremely well. Secondly, the AVX is a fantastic ball that has great spin around the greens while somehow has a lower spin off the driver. That gives me more distance as well as keeping the ball in play giving me a shot to the green without having to navigate my way through the trees! Curious - Have you tried a variety of Titleist Balls ? Which one have you settled on as your preferred Titleist offering ?

Yep. I have played most every Titleist variety over the years. Played ProV1 the most but have been exclusively ProV1x for that last 3 years after a Titleist ball fitting at Pinehurst. I have HIO's with DT, AVX, and ProV1X so yes, they all perform well. :) I too use yellow ProV1X from time to time, if playing in fog, rain, or late evenings. While I like the softer feel of AVX and ProV1, the ProV1X gives me the best overall results for my game. Great that Titleist has so many excellent options for everyone.

I'm in between balls. I get a lot more driver distance out of a Prov1x but lose distance with it for iron shots. I gain distance with iron shots over an x with a prov1.

I've gone over to the CPO side and play the Left Dash. It's basically everything I've ever wanted - firm, low spinning off the driver and irons and great around the greens. The thing goes forever...

I have to say that I am partial to the Prov1x.
Having said that, I am starting to really like the Tour Soft. I find the distances between the 2 are comparable, and there are some days when the swing is off, the tour soft is a bit easier to launch

Prov1x left dash is a great golf ball. Very partial to it.

I also have been playing the tour soft recently and found that I get a bit more roll out and good control around the greens.

My dad is looking for a new ball and he likes a softer ball. How would you compare the Tour Soft to the ProV1 as far as feel is concerned?
  9. The ProV1 checks all the boxes for me . Avx is close 2nd as well .
  10. I find the new ProV1s better than anything right now. I was using ProV1x’s for the longest time, then went to the AVX, and then the Left Dash. Last year, someone gave me a box of ProV1s, so I tried them out. I have not looked back.

ProV1 is the ball that I play for many years .
