  1. Just got fitted for AP2 Forged Irons.  The clubs i decided to go with had a standard shaft and a 1* club angle.  I was curious if i should of went with the 1/2 inch more on the club length because im pretty tall guy(6'3). so im wondering if the 1/2 inch would make that much of a difference?

    Thanks

    James,

I would go with what the Club Fitter recommended in length.  If you were consistently hitting the ball in the center of the club face, then I wouldn't suggest changing the length based on your height.  When we fit for length, the biggest key is making sure the player is consistently finding the center of the club face.  If not, then we try a longer or shorter club until consistency is met.

You would be surprised how much difference 1/2 inch in length or 1/2 degree in lie angle makes on how well you hit the ball.  Even 1/4" can make a difference in hitting it clean or chunky.

I'm 6'1" and a wrist to floor height of 35.5".  I hit my Vokeys 1* upright and standard length.   My 8-PW are 1* upright and 1/4" short.  My 7 iron is 1/2* upright and 1/4" short.   I play a 44.5" driver and my 5 wood is 41.5" with a Surefit setting of D3.  I play hybrids at standard length.

My dad is 6'2" but he uses standard lie angles because his arms are 2" longer than mine.
