Driver Shaft

  1. Hi,

Currently I have the D3 driver with a Mitsubishi Diamana White 73 X-Stiff shaft.  When I got fitted I was playing alot and rocking this driver.  Unfortunately, I am not playing as much as I used to and am thinking about switching to the D2 or DComp driver for more forgiveness.

Assuming my swing speed/aggressiveness/etc is still constant, would my current shaft match up well with the D2 or DComp driver?  Or do I need to get fitted all over again as there is probably a better fitting shaft for the D2 and DComp drivers.

    Thanks,
    Joe

  2. Hi Joe -

Assuming your swing speed, ball speed and aggressiveness are the same as when you were fit for the 909D3 and you are just looking for more forgiveness on your mis-hits, I would look to the Dcomp.  The 909 Dcomp is a more forgiving club-head than the 909D2.  The 909Dcomp will be a higher launching, lower spinning driver head than the 909D2. Both heads will perform well with the Diamana white board, but you will see higher MOI and straighter shots on mis-hits with the Dcomp.

However, if you feel that your current struggles are requiring you to make additional swing changes you may want to visit a local Titleist fitter and determine which combination will be best for you if you continue to play on an irregular basis.
