  1. Hey, I am looking to get a new Scotty Cameron putter. I would like to know what a Scotty Cameron fitting involves. Time, Cost and Tests.

    Thanks Rob W

If you have access to a Cameron Showcase Partner they will have various equipment to measure arc. Mine has a K-Vest system that provides data to assess back swing/forward swing time, arc, on center strikes, and optimal shaft length. At the end, you will talk about how much toe flow you should have, what length helps you line up a straight putt, and how much loft the head needs for correct forward roll. From there, you can finalize your best putter. I've been with my fitter for 8 years. He doesn't charge me for the fitting with a club purchase. The going rate is $80 an hour and it takes a good 30 minutes to go through start to finish.

If you mean a fitting at The Gallery in Encinitas.. Its the best money you'll spend in a fitting. Joey has been there since day one doing fittings.. I forgot the cost and time, but they'll test your current putter against all other model to find the most consistent model for you. Its worth it!

Find a Titleist dealer in your area and give them a call. PGA Superstore is an option. or go to the man at his fitting center in Southern California. You can schedule a fitting thru his site at Scottycameron.com.

I bought my Scotty Phantom X12 and was fitted at PGA Superstore in Katy, TX. The fitting involved putting in a launch bay where it was determined that the toe was 9.1 degrees high in my stroke so I bought the putter and they bent the shaft to bring it to zero. There is generally a fitting fee but if you buy the club with them it is reduced. (Mine fee was waived)

Ron, do you click on the fitting van experience when tying to schedule an fitting and the putting 60 minutes option?

Good thread, thank you for the info guys. After checking the Cameron website I may make a trip to the nearest Showcase Partner, it's about an hour drive, but I'd be more comfortable doing that than trying to get fitted at my local Golf Galaxy if I'm specifically looking for a Cameron. I'm more of a feel player and don't get too technical, but I figure a fitting can only help me be more consistent and at least know what specs I should be looking at before pulling the trigger on a purchase.
