Lighter Weight Club Heads

    Hello Titleist,

    My irons are +2-inches with the Recoil 660 shaft in F3 flex. The swing weight is E3. Do you offer a lighter weight head, and if so what would the swing weight be with the same shaft?

    Maybe counter balancing the shaft (add more weight in the handle) would help bring the swing weight down from E3, leaving you more options for club heads.

    Are these Titleist irons built in Carlsbad? Unless the swing weight is specified, they try to get as close to D2/D3. I’ve heard other OEMs don’t account for length a the impact on swing weight. Obviously 2 inches longer get a club closer to being a hammer toss.
    The heads vary in weight, by the production process. So they would match your order to a lighter set of heads. You only need to specify a swing weight and they will do it or contact the ordering site with what can done.
    If it was through Titleist they can track the original order from the hosel serial number to see if E2 was an accident or an ordering mistake.

    I never thought of requesting a specific SW when ordering clubs. The SW of my old steel shafted irons was E8. It was specified on a card that was attached to the irons listing the specs. At the time I had no idea what SW was, so didn't really pay any attention.

    When swing weight isn't specified the final swing weight will simply be the result of the components and specs choosen- specify adjusted lengths- Titleist won't adjust head weight to compensate. Perhaps the customer did so because they wanted to attain a specific swing weight. How are they to know, thus, Titleist would simply use their standard weight head. Keep in mind the actual head weight can vary (+/-) due to manufacturing variances adding to the necessity of specifying the required swing weight so they can advise their customers when they can't meet the requested swing weight.
