  1. I am booked in for an iron and wedge fitting at the Craigielaw fitting centre.

Can anyone help me with some info.

Is the iron fitting with a 7 iron only or do they have multiple irons to hit?

Is it off grass or mats?

    Do they use premium balls?

Any info on a fitting day Craigielaw is greatly appreciated. Please let me know of experiences you have had.

    Kirkcaldy,

Been for fitting for wedges there and was off mats with proV’s from what i can remember. With the wedges we even went to the bunkers and around the greens which was great. That’s a thing need to get those wedges updated as its been a while lol

Not sure what the ground conditions are in Scotland. Where I live the daily temperature is under 0 C and the ground is frozen. All fittings are indoors or off mats from heated facilities. Apparently The Old Course requires using a mat under certain winter conditions.
A full fitting should start with getting data from your current set and an interview of what you are expecting. Between the 7 iron and the results with your current set, a fitter should have a good idea if your best fit for a 7 iron will carry over to 6-5-4 or if you need to consider a more forgiving iron or consider a hybrid/fairway/driving iron.

As a LH I’ve never seen more than the 6, now 7 iron fitting iron.
