I currently play a Pro V1x and had this same dilemma recently.  Earlier in the year when it was much cooler and windier, I noticed a problem with the Pro V1x getting pushed around quite a bit, and not just on wedge shots, which I tend to spin like crazy.  Now, I don't have a slice or a hook in my swing, when I miss it's always a push to the left because I tend to leave my hands behind me a bit.

Anyway, a few days ago I was again playing in windy conditions and noticed the same problem, the ball not cutting through as much as I like.  As a control, I used the Pro V1x and two other balls during a practice round.  What I found was that, generally, the balls with the urethane covers (the softer tour balls) almost all were affected the same by the wind.  The Penta TP tended to cut through the wind better than all the others in my test, but I personally felt that when it came to short game, nothing came even close to the Pro V1 or Pro V1x.  And while I don't like shelling out $50 for a dozen of them, I grudgingly do so because of the results, so I consider it a marriage of convenience.  So, for the time being, make mine Pro V1x!

I find in the wind it is generally better to play a less spinning ball like any two piece distance golf ball.

Hex Black is purported to perform best in wind. i tried it vs Pro V 1 over 9 rounds of Irish wind last month and found little difference - Hex had negligible stability benefits from my perspective but not a great difference in any regard.. Both balls Flighted similarly and were as stable in headwinds and cross winds. B330 also was tried earlier this year and while the distance for me was a few yards longer than Po V 1 the feel on short game was not as good as I find with the Pro V 1. Also I found that recently popular Penta TP ball which I have recently tried features a nice short game feel but for me it is not quite as long or durable as Pro V 1. Since fast bent greens are the norm where I play the majority of my golf in Pennsylvania feel on putts and chips is most important attribute and is best with the Pro V 1.
