Are there any plans to introduce thr ProV1 line in yellow? I lost most of the vision in one eye, and now have a difficult time seeing the white ball in flight especially on overcast days. My preference is Titleist but I do not like the Tour S.
Skylar TCoral Springs, FL
There have been other discussions on this topic and they said that there are no current plans for a yellow prov1.

Who want's to play a cowardly ball. It's probably afraid of heights and won't fall in the hole.

Besides unfortunate medical problems, the front end of the baby boomers just don't follow white balls down the fairway as well as optic yellow (my wife's pink balls are not as easy to follow as white, though..). Too bad Titleist is trusting loyalty in this group faced with difficult choices looking at other brands solely to get a performance ball in optic. The market segment is growing, but I guess the expectation is they will move to a softer 2 piece ball rather than another brand.
Mark HWells, ME
I can only hope Titleist does not miss the senior market. 10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 every single day. Golf (and the companies that play into that market) can only continue to thrive if the majority of its' players are not over looked, forgotten.

All of us older players all remember the same arguments over yellow tennis balls. Can't believe tennis players did it earlier than golfers. It isn't for everyone, but will be the choice of enough to make it worthwhile. There are two ProV1 models, right?
Tate SStem, NC
Not just for seniors. I'm 32, 20/20 vision, and I prefer a yellow ball. Shows up better in peripheral vision and easier to find amongst everyone's white balls. I prefer srxn ZStar just because of color, if Titleist had a pro v in yellow i'd buy. They are not unprofessional, tacky, or ridiculous as I get the impression from reading other players quotes here.
Andy SRaymond, ME
I agree with john and would buy ProV1 or/and V1x in optic yellow. They are so much easier to follow and find in the rough/leaves than white ones and I have sometimes bought srxn balls in past instead of Titleist whites because of this. When I play most seriously I want to use titleist balls and so am still using ProV1x in competitions/serious fun matches and on the best courses when I travel. Titleist would get all my business instead of some of it if they offered their best balls in bright yellow!
Ron SStrongsville, OH
I also agree with John & Andy! High Optic Yellow is easier to see anywhere on the course for young, mid & older players.
This doesn't mean the Pro's or "Wanna-be Pro's" have to use them. It's all Personal Choice. There are a lot casual and amature players that would benefit from a High-Optic Yellow ball. It would be nice to have a choice with a High-Optic Yellow or White in the ProV1, ProV1X, NXTTour & NXT TourS. This cover most of your customer base.
I know you can't please everyone but, You have to consider "what's your largest customer base"???
Thanks for your outstanding products!

i couldnt agree more guys ive gone through a couple brands as well just for the color but love the playablility of prov's and like mentioned previously most people that i talk to that are anywhere from tour serious to just fun like to play pro v's it would be beneficial to both ends

I would agree that the optic yellow would be nice in the prov and x's but I imagine it would create a lot of expense for the Titleist operations. Those of us that would like one will still buy the white or would we transfer our buying to the yellow, still either way they get our business. On the other hand , think, now the ones that are personalizing the balls it would be double the trouble for Titleist to make the manufacturing runs for the color , then the personalization. Now lets look at marketing, more shelf space at the pro shops, more box design, and more inventory problems for manufacturing. Well? Would that be a greater market share for Titleist? Would the players then shift from current balls to the number one for just the color? Would you as a player buy both white and yellow to play in your outings with? Don't give me the courage stuff about a yellow, years ago you would not be caught dead playing in a pink shirt, now you have pink in all facets of the game. So yes, optic would be nice, but it is up to Titleist to weigh the pros and cons as to the benefits to the corporate position. And we as players can support what ever they decide and not keep begging or complaining. I think the best is your getting to play the number one ball and your doing it above the grass not looking up from under wishing you could be playing!

I hoping that that with enough of a demand Titleist will finally see the market for this. If anything, it would be worth it to create some test balls like they did for the 2013 Pro V's and conduct the follow up survey. If enough people respond in favor yellow version it might make it to market.
Here's hoping!

I hate finding pink at dusk. The hue becomes darker and is easily lost off of the short grass. A while back there was a post here about dying golf balls I suppose that can be an option for a colorized ProV.

Fair enough Don O maybe I was being a little harsh and I want to apologise if I offended anyone I didn't mean to do that and having both options would be that bad, everyone then gets thier choice

Love the color option...... Use these for carpet putting, new Sharpie brush pens..
Besides using a Sharpie pen, there was a previous discusson message about dying golf balls, and a link to the dye company's site on how to dye golf balls.

I wouldn't buy them, but I also wouldn't buy spike-less golf shoes, and those seem to be popular among a lot of players. That said, if for some reason I couldn't see white, or liked yellow better, I would be upset because I would be forced to play an inferior ball. Making a yellow V makes sense to me.
john mDanville, CA
I am only 53 but i too have difficulty seeing the white balls in flight and use an optic ball just so i can see it better. Even if we are aware of where the ball is headed it makes it more enjoyable to see the ball in flight.
john s
You have to realize they don't want you to find all your balls for a reason!!!! Make business sense??
Tom CBordentown, NJ
I agree with everything Andy S. wrote. Just bought a dozen srxn yellow just for the fall. I normally play Pro V1 and get in at least 80 rounds a year. I know what a great ball can do but I just can't follow them and find them in the fall months.
I, like many of me's, would applaud Titleist for a yellow Pro V1. So much easier to see . Don't discount the baby boomers as they own more wealth than the "young-ins".
Jonathan BSouth Burlington, VT
I have moved 50% of my buying to another brand for the Optic Yellow.
Use it for overcast, early, or dusk conditions. Also for any course I am not familiar with.
I prefer the Titleist product, but I prefer seeing the ball more.
Charles G. ConnerWinston-Salem, NC
I switched from the Titleist Pro V1 to the Titleist GrandZ yellow golf ball for the winter. The yellow Titleist golf ball allowed me to better see it as it lay with leaves and dead fairways plus it was easier to follow when the ball traveled thru backgrounds and skys that were difficult to see a white golf ball. I also prefer to play Titleist golfballs, but I don't like how the Titleist Tour S performs.
Yellow golf balls look unprofessional and should not even be considered on a premium line up of golf balls, if your playing a ball like the pro v1 and pro v1x you should be able to tell where the ball was struck on the face and you should know the distances you hit each club, there for you should always be able to locate where the ball finished before you have even arrived at the point, if your not able to have consistent distances or tell where you struck the ball on the face a NXT TOUR-S or DT-SOLO (Titleist's yellow models) would more then likely be a better fit anyway.
Greg FWilmington, NC
I have to disagree! You are talking about my game, and Titleist ball fitters would also disagree. Without my corrective glasses I cannot drive. There are times in flat light that I just cannot see my ball in flight. Catch the end of a tree limb and you have no idea where it went. With an optic yellow ball I can follow the ball in flat light conditions. If I connect with the ball well, I might be another 10 yards longer. This can mean over the green, or in a trap or who knows where. I attended a Titleist ball fitting several years ago, and hit almost the entire line of balls. The Pro V1 was the best ball for me according to the Titleist ball fitters. I play different Titleist balls and other brands at times, and I can tell you the Pro V1 brings the best results. I play them better than the Pro V1x, that I used today. It just fits my game better. I hope you do not get to the point that you need assistance in seeing the ball, but it does come with age!
I understand what you are saying Greg F however I have always been against a yellow ball however at 15 off +0.6 I doubt that I will need a yellow ball at the moment, but in the future I might however I doubt I could ever do that, I really don't like them but for the time being I think we will have to agree to disagree.

I too am over 50 and I am a diabetic. And unfortunately the disease has affect my eye sight and while I prefer the feel and preformance of the ProV's I am forced to play the NXT tour S in yellow when playing solo so I cAn keep up with it. So Titleist Fan 1 why should I be penalized from playing a premium grade golf ball ? That's kind of selfish of you. So please Titleist give it a thought for us old guys with disabilities.
I fully agree with Dwayne that Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x enthusiast shouldn't be penalized from playing a premium golf ball. PLEASE make a yellow Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x! Thanks!
Fan, I can agree to disagree. I understand the desire to keep the game as pure as possible, and I agree with that. I do not like all of the colored balls just to have color in a ball. I donate all of the balls I find to First Tee and my friends and playing partners know that. You would be suprised how many people give me new colored balls that they cannot see. However, no one has given me a High-Optic Yellow ball.
I played yesterday evening, and lost sight of my white Pro-v1 ball twice, in flat light conditions. Then I switched to a high-optic yellow ball and did not have any more issues. I just do not like having to play a ball that does not enhance my game. I was lucky to get a sleeve of the test balls last fall (Prov1?). I can tell you that if I could get that ball in a high-optic yellow, I would be one happy camper! If anyone is reading, I would be more than happy to give feedback on those balls!!!!! Getting older is no fun. Enjoy the fairways and greens!
Agreeing with Greg. My biggest mistake was getting my wife pink balls last year when she decided to give up her widowhood and join me outside. In dim light it is darn near impossible to find in deep rough (...and where else would a new golfer be??).
But no question on the utility of the optic yellow. I have a box of ProV1x balls I save when I play with my foursome where everyone else is half my age. By myself or with kids my own age, I use optic. And we spend too much time looking for their white balls.
"Look unprofessional and shouldn't be considered"... REALLY??? This day & age??? REALLY!?!?!?
First of all, "You" have nothing to worry about because there will always be White Pro V1's and Pro V1X's for all golfers. Just because Titleist makes a different colored ball doesn't mean you have to buy/use it. Don't you "Trust your ball" just like me?
The rest of us in this discussion, are wanting the "High Optic Yellow" for specific reasons with age and weather conditions (early morning, dusk, foggy, etc.). I really like the color too! I know exactly which ball is mine b/c it stands out and I don't have to check all the other white balls. Besides, These days color is in full swing and that can attract more golfers of all ages!!! I'm not saying go crazy on the color selection, just "High Optic Yellow".
Myself and others would really like to have the option of "High Optic Yellow" in the "upper" line.
Thanks for the outstanding products Titleist!!!
P. BlairPortland, OR
Titleist makes yellow hats. I don't see the problem.
All this talk of 'you should not need it' - okay, fine, but there are sufficient profits in offering a yellow tour-level ball for other companies, even considering their lower overall sales and thus higher costs.
I can't imagine how people here who are offended by yellow balls are allowing Titleist to get away with putting the word 'Tour' on the NXT.
It's a ball, folks. It's a ball that you don't have to play. Speaking as someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, where we have pretty dreary conditions in a large part of the year, I can say that yellow balls are MUCH easier to see on many days. There's science behind this. Science makes better balls. Science makes a better game.
Science doesn't have an ego. Let it go.

you may think yellow balls may look unprofessional but i have seen them on the pga i think if a person loves the action of pro v1 or prov 1x and its his or her favorite ball they should not have to switch because their eye site going bad i do not need yellow right now myself but i tried dt solo optic yellow the ball was easyer to see however i love the pro v1 x better for me if i did need optic yellow i would hope titleist would make them for my favorite ball
In your opinion they look "unprofessional". I don't play to crowds so frankly don't care about color other than I prefer Optic Yellow. Having said that I prefer Titleist Pro V1X as a ball. Recently I have mixed what I play, something I haven't done in 25 years. I"m old enough to have gone through the tennis ball debate on color- how did that resolve itself?

I use only ProV1x when I play. This being said, the first whole where I play is parallel to the driving range. Due to bad players, range balls cover the first fairway. Unless you play a yellow ball, finding your ball even when you know the direction and distance is impossible. Have a yellow ProV would be wonderful in these circumstances.
Jeff SUnion, KY
Not according to the Titleist Ball Fitting program. Everyone benefits from playing the best ball, the ProV1/ProV1x. You could be a 20-handicapper, allegedly, and reap the benefits of playing this ball.
Of course, that's just propaganda to increase sales of a $48/dozen ball. We all know that. And I'm as big a fan of Titleist as anyone on these threads.
I would buy and play the ProV1x in optic yellow year-round. I see the ball flight so much better, even when it lands on the fairway 75% of the time and when it lands on the green ~ 50% of the time in regulation. I personally do not understand why one would think this lessens the premium aspects of a golf ball. Just because it is not played on Tour is not good enough reason.
I've tried the NXT Tour S and think there is too big of a difference. It's just not close to the ProV1x.
Jack GMillersville, MD
This is a very harsh reply which smacks of the "good ole' boy's club" attitude. To suggest "yellow golf balls look unprofessional..." is a personal opinion, to which others might disagree. If there is a valid reason to use a yellow ball, e.g. eyesight problems, Titleist should respond to its customer base. Also, to suggest that another ball "...would more than likely be a better fit anyway," is a put down and is not good for the game. Think how young kids just starting to play the game might react to this. Kids love color, which allows them to express themselves; we should be good role models and set the example for them--put downs are not part of that! As to the business end, which another reply opined, I say if they can make a yellow Tour S, then they can make a yellow ProV.
Having choices is a good thing, the very essence of Democracy. In a game already encumbered with too many rules, I see having color choices as a good thing. Let's promote the game without negative comments and just have fun; that will bring more kids into the game.

Its been well over 2 years since I through a sincere request for Titleist to consider the 65+ masses and offer YELLOW to the ProV series. Have to admit at the beginning there were only a few ATTA boys thrown out. Now, the last month I have seen measurable numbers of the senior population stepping up to the tee box willing to chuck the now $48 Titleist ProV's for the other brands that starts with B and C. Please do not discount those offerings. Both have great responses on the short game. I found the new "C" chrome is squeezing a better response. Why does Titleist not understand the senior game is not the BIG HUNKING drives anymore but the feel and touch 100 yds in and enjoy it by seeing it. Titleist please wake up. You have the technology. Use it or plan to take 2nd/3rd place in the overall golf ball marketplace. NET-NET- the world's wealth is over the 70+ age. Just keep on shunning us.
SirhcSacramento, CA
Don O - Just turned 50 and I prefer a yellow ball to a white one. I agree with your income point. In addition, mature golfers' eyesight tends to deteriorate over time. Why not make a premium ball that is easier to see and find?
Fortunately, golf wise, I live in drought-stricken California. I have a few rounds in this season and have not missed yellow balls. However, there will be a time this season I wish I had yellow. If Titleist markets a ball that improves every player's game, including high handicappers, then Titleist should expect some balls to go out of play, or at least be difficult to find. The cynic in me says that is the plan; more lost balls equals more golf ball sales!
I went to a local Team Titleist Pro V1 launch event in early February. When asked about a yellow Pro V1, the Titleist rep said that Titleist has explored the idea but making a yellow ball would involve additional or different manufacturing processes. Since the 2013 and 2015 Pro V1s are more durable because of an improved paint process, Titleist should research the necessary steps to bring a yellow Pro V1 to market. People complained enough about scuffing that Titleist improved the durability. Maybe enough complaints about an easy to see optic Pro V1 will make it a reality.

I'm color blind in 18 different ways. I'm a 3 handicap and need the yellow ball. The only thing that can be unprofessional is the
Player, not the ball. I guess John D. and his clothing line is unprofessional then. His bright loud clothing line for loudmouth golf has made him wealthy. Titleist fans deserve the request.

I know a few people that like the yellow golf balls ... personally I can't follow them as well, probably because I'm used to looking for the white golf ball. A couple of golf buddies have switched to another ball because yellow Pro V1's aren't (readily) available. Not sure it is a big issue, but I know it would make a few people happy here :)

My brother is a Diabetic and as a result his eye sight is fading and he literally cannot watch his ball flight most of the time because the white ball blends in So he had started using the srxn Zstar ball so he could better find it when I am not there to help him. For people like this I would say that Yellow Prov's are a great idea

Although I like the Prov Ix a bit / lot better, I play the 330-RX because of its optic yellow colour.
It's visibility is better and therefore my choise. If Titleist would decide to produce the Pro V1x in yellow, I would switch.

I was playing Titleist ProV1 and ProV1x golf balls, but last June I switched to the Titleist NXT Tour S in yellow and I haven't lost any distance on my shots. So for now, I guess I continue playing the TItleist NXT Tour S in yellow and save some money!

As of about a year ago, I only play yellow golf balls. With my poor eyes, I find yellow much easer to see. Sorry ProV1, I have moved on to other brands.

I have to agree with john. I love using the pro v1x for playability however I have trouble tracking the ball in overcast, dusk, dawn. I have recently started to use bstone rx's due to the optic yellow color and being able to see, track, find my ball. I would switch back to 100% titleist balls if the pro v1 & pro v1x's came in the optic yellow. I typically golf in a group with 2 other gentleman and they both have the same problem and would prefer proV1-proV1x's in the bright optic yellow.
Joseph -
I did buy a loyalty pack of Pro-V1x as it plays well. If I'm not in a group and the sky is gray to misty, I have my secret stash of yellow chrome balls to use. Not sure about short shots around the green, but the round is faster when I don't have to search 30 yards along the fairway trying to find a ball I did not see land.
I was praying one of the options for a loyalty program this year would have been a custom optic. I know the majority of better golfers are under 55, but I was hoping that being left-handed would be the only handicap I had to deal with in a minority group for golf equipment. ...The right ball for every player...
J
I would pay an upcharge for an optic yellow ProV1x. It's worth more to me to keep the same ball in my bag year-round and at any time of the day. I just see the ball flight so much better, and my eyes are not what they used to be. And this is hitting 75% FIR and ~ 55% GIR. It's not helpful just to find balls in bad places...
Why won't Titleist give people an opportunity to pay more for this option?
