I have been golfing since I was 3 but was never really serious until this upcoming year when I start playing in college.  I have typically used various types of balls that I either found on the course or the cheap name brand balls.  I am looking to start playing either the Pro V1 or the Pro V1x for tournaments but I am not sure which one to choose, I have played both from ones I have found on the course.  What are the pros and cons to each ball so I can know which one to choose for the season?

    Thanks

    Hi Andrew,

    Thanks for the question.

The best way to determine which golf ball is right for you is to take both balls out on the course and hit different types of shots with each. Start with shots around the green and pay attention to how each ball performs. Do you like the ball to have more, or less spin? Do you like a certain feel?

From there, move back to some full iron shots and again may attention to flight, feel and performance. Keep "score" and determine which ball meets your needs the best.

In conclusion, if you like a ball to have a softer feel with more green side spin, the Pro V1 would be the best option. If you like a harder feel with less spin into and around the greens, the Pro V1x would likely fit you better.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Bubba, now if only I could hit the lottery or something where I can afford to buy both of them.  I feel like I would benefit from straighter longer irons and woods, so which would be better for that?

    Hi Andrew,

If you feel you could benefit from straighter longer irons and woods, you likely needs a ball that spins less. If so, the Pro V1x would likely be your best bet. But it's still always best to try both out first.

    Take care,

    Bubba
