So I played the test balls this afternoon, and I had the best 9 hole score in quite some time.  A bit of background:  my daughter is on her HS golf team, and I'm the assistant coach, so I have been hitting a ton of balls and trying to help the girls get their swings together has actually taught me to slow my backswing down and get the club head on the right path.  Haven't really been playing 9 or 18 holes much, but have been playing 2 - 4 holes each afternoon with the team.

My results were:  2 birdies, 4 pars, 1 double, and 2 bogies for a total 9 hole score of 38.  I was smashing my drives down the middle, reached the fringe of both par 5's, and the double bogey was a result of a really bad hook that found the pond on the 4th hole (don't worry, it only went to the edge of the water and I was able to save the test ball).

So I do believe it was the ball.  On another note, I also bought a new pair of FJ Contour's today and wore them for the first time, so it must have been the shoes.  OK, now I'm confused as to whether it was the ball, the shoes, or a combination.

Anyhoo.....  I asked my pro which ball he thought it was, and he was pretty sure it was the Pro-v1x.  It felt a bit softer to me, but seemed like it could have been very close.

I will post more the next time I play it.  Tomorrow is a best ball scramble, so I probably won't put it into play for that.
