NXT Tour or Velocity?

At my home course which features hard, fast greens, I play the Pro V1 ball. I am delighted with it.

There are a few courses that I visit where the greens are not tightly mown, or, as my pro informs me, suffer from thatch. When I play at these courses, all the shots from 100 yards in to greenside that I've groomed for the V1 wind up checking up way short. So, just as an experiment, I am thinking of playing a Surlyn ball when I'm there next year. I've tried both the NXT Tour and the Velocity in the past. Now that I want to give them another look, I wonder whether there are design differences that will make the one ball behave slightly differently from the other. I'm wondering about launch angle, spin off half wedges, things like that.

Of course I'll try at least a sleeve of each around next year's Masters time. But I'm trying to get a little head start here.

    Thanks.

Have you tried the new DT TrueSof.  Of the Two you are talking about I am not an advocate of the Velocity.  Sorry.  It is just plain too hard.  I am a die hard Titleist ball guy and the Prov1 is my ball.  I played the new DT TrueSof ball this year and it is sweet and will put a sleeve or two in my bag for those slow greens and hard fairways when I need a low compression ball.  The Velocity reminds me of the hardrock Topflite golf ball.  Just my opinion.  I have played the NXT tours in the past and they are a nice ball.  One thing I do, I just swing easier with an extra club with the premium balls in the winter.
