    It was a cloudy day, and I had some NXT-Tour-S amber balls. After 10 holes I switch to Pro-V-1x (v.2013). On my first drive, the 1x and 913 D2 had a distinct crisp sound. Every release of balls from every company is coming out with new and improved softer balls. I hope Titleist doesn't continue the trend with the 2017 Pro-Vs. I really like the distinct feel on on center hits.

    The newest version of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x feel much softer and better to me compared to previous versions! IMHO

    I agree and I think they look great too. I don't know why but they seem more modern?

    Hi Don,

    I tend to agree with you on that. I just really love the feel and sound of the Pro V1X or Pro V1 on my club face, especially the driver. It just seems to perform best for me of all of the various balls on the market.

    It seems to me though that if Titleist was going to go to a softer feeling ball, then they have a pretty good performing one in the NXT Tour S -- if only they were available with a urethane cover! For some reason, I just don't seem to get the same greenside spin on the NXT Tour S like I do with my PRO V1x and I chalk it up primarily to the different covers (urethane vs. "fusablend").

    I played the PRO V1 and recently switched to the Trusoft. It sounds different coming off the club but I really like how it works around the green. Good spin.
