If a ProV1 spins more than a ProV1x, why does the ProV1 launch lower and have more roll?

  1. As per the diagram on the back of the ProV1/x boxes, I am confused.

I thought more spin = more lift, therefore the ProV1 would have a higher apex? Furthermore, if there is more spin on a Prov1 when it lands, why does it have more roll?

    Hi Maximus,

Thanks for the question! While spin does play some part in trajectory, the aerodynamic packages (dimple patterns) play the biggest role in determining each model's flight characteristics.

    All the best,

    Maximus,
After playing the ProV1 for many years. I switched to the V1x this past fall. Although a little too soon to be sure, I like the flight and believe it has improved my game a bit. I am glad that I put it in my bag. Don't be shy, give it a try. Who knows, it may be a better ball for you as well.
  4. Max, I am a high ball/high spin player and having been playing the X since it was unveiled. Great ball. Last year I started using the V1 and it is advertised. Lower launching with more roll. Now I use 'em both, depending on conditions.
