  1. I always thought that the Pro V spun more on iron shots and around the greens. Is this a new development that the new Pro V1x spins more around the greens and on medium to short iron shots? I thought you had to give up a bit of spin around the greens to get a bit of extra distance with the X.

Distances are equal now. X will spin more on irons & around the greens. V1 will be more penetrating flight and will get more roll out.
No more deciding which ball Goes Further ... now you must decide which ball performs to your specs.

I really want to hit the new Pro V1 to see about the same distance. Previous models, i would get a lot more distance and better feel with the Pro V1x than the Pro V1. now it looks like the newer model will help in that area. excited to try some out this season.
  4. Actually I believe that the X will be traveling further than the V. The X has a high launch with lots of distance, while the V has a penetrating lower trajectory for more roll. This is at least what I saw from the videos I have seen on their website.

I think the spin issue may be a little misleading. The pro V1 will spin less with the longer clubs, because the core will be activated more. Since both balls have the same cover I believe they should perform similar in spin around the greens, as we are not fully engaging the core when hitting partial shots. IMO
  6. Still too cold to try either proV, but I like the comment from Matt B. The spin probably will be more equal between the pro Vs around the greens. This will make me feel better about choosing the x, being more of a sweeper and lower ball hitter. I don't have to feel like I'm giving anything up around the greens anymore.
