I agree, does seemed they have flipped now that the X has more sg spin. Some friends and I are confused on how a harder ball spins more.? Can someone on Team Titleist explain further?

I agree there is a ton of confusion. Previously, there was a high spinning and lower spinning ball. Now the lines a bit more blurry. I'm going to get out next week and test both balls to see which fits my game better. FYI : Current V1X player.

Personally that's what I loved about the previous versions was that it was pretty cut and dry, Pro V1 lower launch, more spin, Pro V1X launches higher and spins less. That's been the formula since they released the Pro V1X.

I re-read a post I made golfwrx about the 2 test balls I received and the Pro V1X worked better for me and they spun more. It surprised me cuz I moved in to the 2016 Pro V1 early last year.

I wish Titleist would offer a 3rd choice when selling their Pro V's, and sell a dozen balls with 6 Pro V1 and 6 Pro V1X to let customers try both balls without having to dropping $100 to test both the new versions especially since the balls profiles have changed so much with this release.

The mixed box is a great idea.

The pro at the golf club I went to said he would sell me a box of half Vs/half Xs for the same cost as a full box after I explained my dilemma on the new product line. It may be worth asking to see if they will accommodate you.

You guys may be over thinking the set up a bit. Look at it as if they simply updated the balls rather than changed them. The V is simply longer and more consistent in flight than the 2015 ball. Both of these factors comes from the new dimple pattern and core. The X is simply sharing the same update with the V in terms of the dimple pattern, again in order to make a more consistent flight. The V remains softer and more penetrating with less long game, iron game, and short game spin compared to the X. The X remains the ball with a higher trajectory and more spin compared to the V in all aspects. I find it very straight forward and believe Titleist has made it very easy to see the difference under the Balls tab. I hope that helps guys, either way the ball is a Titleist and that's all that matters!!

srxn did that with their new ball release. They put 2 sleeves in a pack and sold them for $10. That way you can try both for less than a normal dozen. But doesn't matter i still went back to the trusty proV.

Just my 2 cents, the X feels like you are hitting rocks compared to the V. Trackman says I hit the X better , go figure.

I agree with Hunter above. This is more of a progression of each ball as opposed to a change. Get out there and see which of the updates suits you best.!

I had a buddy hook me up with a mixed box from the PGA SS (so they do exist). I toke them both out for a quick 9 hole test along with the 2015 1x. For me, the 2017 1x was the winner.
- Off the tee much long (again this is just for me) with maybe a bit higher ball flight but in no way balloning.
- irons were about the same as the 2017 V1. nice trajectory and a couple of yards long. both stopped within a yard or 2 of their pitch mark.
- chip / pitches we about the same
- putting the V1 was def a softer ball and did have that clicky sound of the 1x. i've grown to like the sound of the 1x off of the putter

Again, these are my personal thought based on how it hit and only 10 holes. YMMV.
