  1. Anyone have any tips on how to remove old Sharpie marks from golf balls? I hate to use a chemical on the ball that might ruin it. I have some ProV1's I need to clean up. Thanks

  2. I would try an overnight soak in hot water and soap, then scrub with sponge.

  5. Nail polish remover always does the charm (anything alcohol based)
  6. Carburetor cleaner works best, won't hurt the ball but won't remove all of it, just get yourself some new balls now is the time!

Might try fingernail polish remover on a cotton ball. Don't soak the golf ball. Put it on the cotton ball lightly and then gently rub the area you want removed.

Some won't come out regardless. I use Goo Gone to start. I that doesn't work, I spray a little rubbing alcohol on the area. If that doesn't get it, probably stuck with a sharpie stain for life.

I use my shotgun cleaning solvent when cleaning shotguns. Drop them in for a few seconds, rinse, dry...brand new!

  11. Mr Clean Magic Eraser!!!! Works great and cheap

Try using the grooves of a new SM6 Wedge...
Simply apply a several sweet swings on those Sharpie marks and they will vanish in no time.

That one made me laugh! That being said, Magic Eraser is probably the best option...solvents and soaking in water can cause serious damage to the ball. You won't beleive this, but water does permeate the cover of a ball and cause it to delaminate after just 24 hours.

  18. Love the answer from Dr K.
I use a red stripe on my Pro V's and after a few swats with any club, they fade quickly.

I have to admit I have tried myself and not very successful. Those sharpies are really sticking! The different agents I have used only faded the mark.

Never thought of magic eraser but I'll be trying it out today
  21. Not much luck so far. Tried a few things & got the Sharpie marks to fade some, but still noticeable. My next move will be the Magic Eraser. Thanks all.

I know a few Tour caddies that swear by hand sanitizer. I've tried it and it works well

I've used graffiti remover with some success as well Q-tips dipped in acetone. You have to do a little rubbing with the Q-tip though.
