I was wondering what is to become of the AVX. It didn't make this year's line up. Will it be back, is it now the new Tour Soft? Or was it just an experiment and we will never see it again? Thanks,

    Ah, the 64,000 dollar question!

Todd, I still see it listed here under balls with the same limited distribution and it's still in our pro shops in CA. It's definitely different from the Tour Soft and every other ball. Guess we will have to wait and see what they do with the future distribution.

Hi Todd ... I understand that Titleist will be bringing the ball to market. It seems that it has performed very well in the "test markets". There have been a few on the boards here at TT that have gone to good length to share their positive feedback on the ball -- so it looks promising!

The Tour Soft is a 2 piece ionomer ball, the AVX is a 3 piece urethane ball. The PGA show was a major release for the Tour Soft and an AVX announcement would detract from that.
I'm a thousand miles from FL and 2 thousand miles from CA/AZ, yet more keep popping up locally. I had to stop buying them when I got to 8 or 9 dozen. Either the AVX experiment went badly and didn't sell in the trial states, or it may be a summer/fall release like the DT TrueSoft. I'm hoping they at least keep the visibility ball for folks that have vision issue but otherwise prefer the Pro-V1. Or release it as a Pro-V1A.
  6. Todd,
I have heard that we may hear more about this in March. Not sure how credible that info is, but a few suppliers have given me that impression... It is not the Tour Soft.

I was wondering the same thing. When I went in to the golf store the other day. The only AVX golf balls they had were the yellow ones. Marketing strategies amaze me sometimes. A assume the Tour Soft took over for the NXT line.

One golf shop here in Tysons Corner VA shows the price for them on their price board (same $ as Pro V1) but has none in stock.

My friends and I have been playing the AVX since just before Christmas 2017 and it's still available here in Northern California. This ball is different than the Pro V1 and for my friends and I it is a longer distance ball with superior cover durability.
  10. I live in California and this ball is the talk of my club. I have played half a dozen rounds with it and am hooked. My swing speed is only 82 mph and this ball gives me 10 more yards off the tee (to around 235 average). I tested both balls simultaneously to really check.
It feels the same as the Pro V1x ball around the green. I will pick up a couple of dozen more when I get back from my current golf trip to Hawaii (they don’t have the ball here)
I hope Titleist sees they have a winning product and release this ball everywhere.

Hang in there. It will be out in a few months for everyone. Has been very successful in the test markets. Be patient.

If they do release it, I hope it's a lower price point.
  13. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, release it! I'm a ProV1X player and have totally switched to AVX here in FL. Less spin, longer distance, and great feel around the green.
