White to Yellow transition

  1. The other day I went out and realized that I was out of balls so I grabbed a sleeve of yellow ProV1's that I purchased for the wife (she likes yellow balls).

I played the 18 holes on a pretty difficult course (Eagle Eye in MI) and used the same yellow ball the whole 18 holes. Ended up with an 81 which is pretty good for me. But, I enjoyed playing with the yellow ball. I've never used a colored ball unless it's a shag ball that I found and just want to finish a hole with it. I was impressed. The ball held up great and will use it again.

So my question is: How many have made the transition from white to yellow? Did you stick with it or only play yellow during a certain time of year? I thought it was much easier to track as well.

Switched out to the yellow even though I have a few dozen white balls... Now that it's getting dark even earlier, the yellow just stands out. Even better, no one in my group uses a yellow Titleist!!
  3. I haven't made the switch yet, but I'm close...

Several times the past month or so, I found myself on a cloudy day paired with someone playing a yellow ball. It is so much easier for my old eye's to track a yellow ball in those conditions! The last couple of times I played, however, it was sunny and clear and I enjoyed my traditional white ball which kept me from switching when I bought my last dozen.
  4. I switched to the yellow ProV1x this year and I couldn't be happier. They are a lot easier to track and find on the course. I don't see myself switching back to a white ball anytime soon.
  5. I made the switch at the beginning of this season when the Prov yellow came out. Love it I can definitely track it better in the air.

I only buy optic yellow Pro-V1's. However I get gifted white balls. If my partners don't need bifocals, I'll use white balls. By myself, I use optic to speed up play by finding them faster.

I play both. Stick to my white ProV1x most of the time but carry a few yellow for rainy, misty, or foggy conditions or those last holes late in the evening when these old eyes aren't as good as they used to be.
  8. Yellow X is the best; and it seems to resist dings better(non-scientific JMHO). Mush easier to see and find.....

I'll have to get some now that the leaves are starting to drift on the fairways. Played today and saw everyone's ball but mine.....lol

Our men's league goes out at 8 am. Tried the yellow AVX when they were first released and found that I really prefer the white Prov1s.......do not play in the late afternoons.....am retired and can play when I choose.....

I started making the switch last year.
I bought 4 dozen NXT Tour S Yellow even though I had 6 dozen PRO V1X in stock. I definitely like the fact that I can follow the yellow ball better. I'm just to cheap not to use my white ProVs so I rotate between both depending on the weather, sky conditions.

I play both white and yellow, AVX , Pro V1s and 1Xs, depending on the weather conditions and angle of the sun at this time of year. The traditionalist in me likes white, but the yellow ones are definitely more visible in most cases, so I have grown accustomed to them too. As long as it's one of the Titleist tour-level balls, I'm comfortable.

I admit, I do like to play a yellow one when my playing buddies are playing white balls. I just love the added exclamation point it makes out in the fairway when the yellow one is 10 or 20 yards in front of all the others. That's one way to make a clear statement without opening your mouth!
