Hey guys, I want to get a new california monterey, i went to the golf shop today and rolled some balls with a few different new cameron californias.

My question is whats the difference or benefit in the offset of the monterey and the 1.5 counterpart?

I currently roll a odyssey white hot 1 with the offset similar to the original monterey, but i like the look of the monterey 1.5 better.

would i have to get used to a different feel from the offset? or is it only cosmetic?

    Thanks.

I am interested in the new monterey as well.  Of course it will be my only gift this year cuz they cost too much but thats ok I guess.  It all comes down to flow neck vs. plumbers neck.  You said the look of the 1.5 suits you better so theres your answer.  Its about time they put a deep mill on for us paying customers, it only took a million years!  Good luck with yer new monterey either way!

The Monterey is a full shaft offset with a plumbers neck and the 1.5 is a 3/4 shaft offset with a flare neck. What the 1.5 does is to change the way the putter opens and closes (toe flow)by changing the balance point. It will lend itself more to a player that has a more pronounced arc to his putting stroke. The Monterey will also open and close, but not as much. It has "less toe flow".
