I think you mean casting vs forged.
I personally like forged over casting. I ended up switching when I was a teenager based upon feel.

Forged if you can hit them properly.

Why do you think it must be 1 or the other?

I was wondering that myself. Personally, I have no problem playing with a cast club (712 AP1), it works for me, and I can score low, so who cares. I see people all the time at my clubs playing with forged clubs and blades who shouldn't be. Cast works well enough for me!

I was originally going to comment about "cavity back" because forged irons come as blades or cavity back.
I constructed a forged lob wedge some time ago and they have a softer feel.
How many TT members remember X31 Staff irons? I believe they were forged. I used them for 25 years and they served me well.
i dont know if you were buying a set youd either have to get custom fitted, try each of them out or just take a wild guess

I take your meaning to be what are my thoughts of the improvement irons or w/cavity or 'blade' -forged 'player irons? If that be the case then:
My game favors the mid and long irons, so there being and amount of cavity or mb is to my favor- but just more than a blade. In my experices with the short irons 7-9, that they need be more blade like and without all those weight manipulations for a more workable club in a tight spot where indeed these clubs find themselves in.
So - thubs up for cavity irons long/mid (2 and 3 being long, 4,5,6 irons being mid). thumbs down on cavity short irons.
forged everything is best. Forging is superior to casting and the metal is more compacted than that from a casting process.
