I'm hoping for a definitive answer here from a staff member or golf smith. I've re-shafted hundreds of clubs and always make a practice of making the shaft tip go all way down, making contact with the bottom of the hosel. I've noticed on many vokey wedges that the factory installed shaft has approx 1/8 in clearance between the tip of the shaft and the bottom of the hosel. Curious if there is a reason for this? Thanks

If it is a design feature of the bore Stephen, that 1/8 would be perfect if a tip weight were used to fine tune swingweight. You can speculate about other things but they aren't very practical in either manufacture or club building. I've found Titleist to be among the most reliable OEMs when it comes to their hosel boring over the years. Very consistent and tight tolerances.
