Just some thoughts please, has anyone had real success with the 917F2 18 degree wood of the fairway?

  2. I have not hit the 917. But I do play the 915 5 wood, along with an 18 degree 915 hybrid and have a perfect gap between the two!

I've had great success with both the 913 and 915 5 woods off the fairway. I really can't speak on the 917 as I have not had the oppertunity to try one yet but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work as good if not better. I have never been a fan of hybrids because I hook them off the planet but that also doesn't mean they won't work for you. Best bet is to go hit them both and find which club gives you the numbers you're looking for in that gap from your irons to your longer metal woods.
  4. The club is very solid. It goes almost dead straight and not very far off line. It is also very easy to control. I would go with the fairway wood.

Now on the subject of this post, I play the 816h1 17* with a Aldila Black Rogue 85H stiff shaft and a 816h1 21* Aldila Black Rogue with a Fijukura Motore Speeder HB 8.8 Tour Spec stiff shaft and absolutely love the hybrids.

    My fairway is the 917F3 15.00 Aldila Rogue M*AX 75 S.

All three clubs were fitted to my specs by Titleist certified fitters.

The 816H1 and H2 are very, very good.

If you're comparing with a five wood, the H1 would definitely be the way to go.

I agree with Wade - I have the 915H 18*, and while I love it the 816H1 is even more of a wood-like hybrid than my 915.
