  1. Team Titleist,

Hope everyone is stay safe! Wanted to ask a question to the group. Currently playing a 917 D3 and was thinking about buying a TS this summer but then I thought what about the release of a new driver. I know Titleist typically releases new lines of woods every two years and the TS line was released in Sept of 2018.

So that leads to my post, kind of a two part question. Would you suggest waiting until the fall and is it safe to assume there will be a new line hitting the market this fall?

    Thanks! Christian

I would wait it out, you get two full years of having the latest and greatest...

This fall should be a new release based on the two year cycle...that being said this whole Covid-19 thing could throw things off a bit...be patient!!!

    Cheers,

Good question. Yes, in a typical year we would start to see tour seeding during the summer and non-pro fittings starting in late summer/early fall with full release in early fall. The problem, this isn't a typical year.
Price drop on TS drivers has already occurred at the big box stores, so you could get a TS now at a good price. The issue might be getting a fitting at this time (depends where you live I guess).

Im pretty sure that we will see new drivers in the fall, but i dont know where you're located at, by the time they are available to the public, your season may be over! And in your picture, you are a lefty, which I am as well, you won't be able to hit one in a fitting unless you're really lucky, until weeks or months after that. Its a tough call, but you can have a TS in your hand tomorrow!

I expect new drivers and fairways in the fall. I see you have two options; 1) wait for the new product or 2) get the current TS line at a bit of a discount. When things settle down, go to a Titleist Thursday and see how you like the TS2/3. If you hit it well, you could save $100 or so by getting that version instead of the yet to be released one.

Either club will be good. I feel like my TS3 has been significantly better for me than my old 917D2. Major key being properly fit for the clubhead, loft, and shaft combo that fits your game.
  8. You can always take your 917D3 in and test it against the TS3. IMO they both have the same weighting system if you don't see enough performance gains from TS3 design then you should wait on the new model. My guess is the new model coming out this fall will have minor improvements or tweaks to the current TS3.

I would wait for the new 2020 TS model in the fall. The 2018 TS will have the advantage of cost savings, but...

You could now save a decent amount of money at dicks/golf galaxy/etc. as they’ve lowered the prices on the TS models.

Currently loving my TS3 and planning to keep it in the bag for a while!
