    Good evening all,

I have a set of the CNCPT 01 irons that are a little over a year old. The dark finish started to wear off similar to the documented inferior paint finish on the TMB irons. The customers service rep (name withheld) said that he felt bad because I paid so much for the irons, said he would see what he could do. I followed up with him a week later and he said he was still working on it. This was about a month ago, so I am assuming this fell through the cracks. Not a huge deal, but this is obviously a defect...

I have been playing the T-MB set for about 2 years. Yes, the dark finish is beginning to show wear on bottom, or where the clubs rub together in the bag, especially on the more frequently used irons. I do not consider that wear to be the result of "inferior paint". There is no thin finish or color that will not wear down. When people purchase the black finish irons or wedges, hopefully they understand how fast those finishes also show wear. The only way to prevent finish color wear would be for the actual different metal to be that solid color. Sorry that this was not obvious or explained before you invested in these type of irons. Great thing is this wear on my T-MB's in no way affects their performance.

Thanks Dale, I was just using the rep’s verbiage, he mentioned that it was a finish that they were using during a certain timeframe that showed excessive wear at an early age. I am glad you have gotten two good years out of yours.
