I playset Nippon pros not the same ones as yours but I really do enjoy the shafts

Unless you will be younger in 5 years, you should go through a fitting for those plus the AMT graphite shafts. There will be little difference in those 2 metal shafts (like a Camry and an Accord) but it will come down to how they feel for you and the results. I had used the NP 95's and hit them well, but the graphite option was better.

Considering steel shaft again because I’ve played with UST Mamiya Recoil ES 760/F3 (Regular flex). I absolutely love the feel of the shafts. Plus it gives me an extra 10+ yards per club Effortless swing and zero fatigue after the round. However, it tends to overdraw/hook. I’m achieving straighter ball flight with my set with Dynamic Gold S300, but usually get very sore shoulders from the heavier and stiffer shaft.

I would suggest a fitter in your area. I am 73 and purchased the new T300s and was playing AP1S XP 105 s300s and my new set have the True Temper AMT Red R300 steel shafts. Love the feel and so much easier to hit. We tried numerous shafts and these got me the best numbers at 2* flat and + 1/2". I have been using this fitter for a number of years and he knows my game pretty darn well. He is a certified fitter and works for Titleist. Cheers....

Get fitted like they suggest, my last fitting put me in 718 AP1s, but I had the best numbers with the True Temper AMT Tour white shafts (which are the stock AP2), over the stock Red on my AP1s.

Chuck's right; see a fitter if you can. If not, I would look hard at the specs each shaft offers, and try and relay that information to your own swing.Do you want a heavier or lighter shaft? Where is the kick point of each shaft? Is it near the head, middle or higher up on the shaft?Which shaft has less/more torque etc...

Do you research before deciding.

Have you tried the Aerotech shafts? Lots of weight and flex choices and a unique feel.

Thanks for all the great info to all that contributed. Upon further researching, it seems that I might also need to consider the True Temper AMT Black or Red. Progressive weighting seems interesting to me. After all, shafts length varies from club to club. This makes sense to me because most of us don’t play single length clubs. I was hoping to just order a set, but seems like a fitting is in order. Maybe once this pandemic is under control. Will update.
