  1. Taylor Made recently released new sets of irons, specifically the P770, which is a derivative of their P790. I felt like the P790 was TM’s answer to Titleist’s TMBs (I still play TMB 716s) and I am crossing my fingers that Titleist will release a new version of the TMBs that will put Taylor Made to shame!

Titleist now supports 8 lines of irons. The TMB at the top end has been replaced by the U-500-510, and the T-400 shares functionality with the U-series. You wouldn't have to get the T-400 with the stock light weight shafts. They are superb for launching and even accounting for the jacked lofts, are longer than other models. That and the CNCPT model covers most of the T-MB market.

The T100-S is the "distance" players' iron. T100 with jacked lofts. With the T100-S and the T400 released mid-cycle, I doubt that a new iron will be released anytime soon. The U series and the T400 added technology developed in the CNCPT lines. Advancing the technology in the next series due this time next year probably won't resurrect the T-MB. No telling how the new models will be modified.
