  1. Hey Guys,

Wanted to get your thoughts on wedge fittings. I got one the other day and I feel like they are mostly good for determining what brand you want. Didn’t really talk to much about grinds and shafts. I know Vokey has a million options so a general fitting place won’t have all the options but I was less then impressed. I am going to go to a Titleist Thursday to really make sure I have the right specs since I’m going to go PW, 50, 55, and 60 in SM8s.

Just wanted to see if I was the only one with this experience.

Sounds like, since you say it was about brand, that it was not exclusively a Vokey fitting. I know when we did the Short Game Event at Pinehurst last year, there are a bunch of variable to consider. You have full shots, bunker shots, green side chips. All that should weigh into your select for loft, lie, bounce, shaft, etc. It was really cool having Bob there actually helping to fit us. I ended up needing a different 56 than what I had which turned out to be a good thing as I use both and alternate which one goes into the bag based on course conditions where I play. A high bounce and a low bounce version of the same loft. Never carry them both at the same time.

Titleist Thursday or setting up an fitting with an Titleist fitter would give you the best results your looking for .
  4. Yeah I will be interested to see what happens when I go to a Titleist Thursday to see how different the loft, bounce, and grinds are.
