Recently picked up a set of 620mb, love them btw. Question is, has anyone noticed they dent quickly? I'm well aware of bag chatter but these are marking up faster than previous and many of the marks are rather deep for chatter. I've compared them to my 712mb, and another brand of blades I have. I have to say these have less chatter marks because of age, but they definitely have deeper dents comparatively. Are they softer than previous models, or the forging process different? Not worried about cosmetics, just curious if anyone has noticed the same. I'm practicing on the same sandy soil, same transportation method, just noticeable. Thanks for any info. BC

  2. Hey man, saw the “712” And my frequent club searching fingers lit up. Any chance you’d want to sell them?

I absolutely would but you wouldn't want them lol. They have been used, short irons have a dug in sweet spot literally sunken in from the sandy Florida soil. 6 and 5 do also.

    Hey BC,

I've noticed the same as well. I have a set of 620 MB/CB combo set and seems like the bag chatter is more noticeable this set. I looked the other day when getting my clubs, that the soles seem to have more little dents from being moved around and also the faces seem to mark up way easier than previous models.

So I'm just as curious as you are now.

Its quite odd. My 712 marked but nothing like this. Just being in the car they will pick up some dents, along with a cart. I can tell the faces definitely won't last long, ill be lucky to get two years out of the short irons at this rate. I absolutely love them and they are soft as butter, but considering its supposed to be the same steal i don't know what's up. I'll have to ask the rep if he has heard anything about this lately. I'm in the business but sometimes getting a straight answer out of these guys is like pulling teeth. Thats why I reached out here, thanks for replying Samuel

Happened to see someone hitting balls on the range with a set of 620. I asked him if he found his irons were marking up easily. He quickly said yes, and his irons were only weeks old. He had limited play with them and only a few trips in the trunk but did notice some dings (not just scratching) already.

My set now looks like they have a few seasons on them between the marks and the faces starting to change color on the sweet spots to that familiar bronze color from wear. My 712 took much longer to wear like this, these are only months old.

Sent an email to the rep and to a few buddies in the business to see if they are noticing or hearing about this. Of course being mb, the popularity is lower so this matter might not be noticed so quickly. To be continued...
