I got fitted for T-200 Irons .5 long & 2 degrees up. My fitter informed me that because they are 1/2' longer the heads will/could feel heavier so I can order the lighter T-200 head instead of the normal T-200 heads. He said it's based on swing weight. The clubs being longer it can make the head feel heavier & that it was up to me if I wanted that feeling or a typical feeling by going to the lighter iron heads. I wanted the most traditional feel and didn't want to possibly slow down my swing with heavier feel so I went with the lighter heads.

Never knew that about getting clubs a bit longer. Didn't even know they made different weighted iron heads for that fact......

Actually, you only need to specify swing weight at the time of order. The heads are all of a varying amount of weight due to manufacturing tolerances. Titleist doesn't order 2 head weights like they do for standard and +2 degrees up lie heads. As part of the custom build, they match heads to the specified shafts, grips, and swing weight desired. They will match the head weights so that the SW isn't over the spec and that they don't have to add a great deal of weight to a light head to get back to the swing weight specified.

Most of the irons are standard at D2-D3 for men. If a longer or short shaft and grip option prevents Titleist from achieving a SW (you can specify at least from C9 to D4) they will let your dealer know.

Thanks for better clarification, I never knew how it would effect a club by making them longer.

I play D1 with -1/2" and 1/2* upright. The grips (Excel RF oversize) add 2 swingweight points. My 5 iron swings like a 6 and the 8 swings like a 9. I've been playing 695MB irons since Feb. Lofts for 5-8 are 26-30-34-39. I play a Vokey 46 bent to 44 instead of a 9 iron.
