I had the same experience, wanted to love them so bad. Felt like when I hit them good, they went no where. Had the same issue with the 716 AP's. Back to CB's and all is well again. Guess it doesn't work out sometime still a great club.

The distances seemed to be pretty on par for both models struck in the center of the face. It was just the very minor off center hits that were deal breakers for me. I know they are a players club, but there needs to be some forgiveness. Even the wedge and 9 iron were dead, particularly if hit a little high on the face. Glad I'm not the only one.

Was there any other factors? Was this the best a fitting could do? Some releases are evolutionary and I can't claim every new one added significant value. The T-line has more revolutionary changes so I'd expect with a correct fitting the T100 would at least be the same and at least more forgiving. I did compare the T200 to the AP3 and while there was not enough difference to jump on the T200, it certainly didn't lose yards. In any event, after going through the T200, T300, and T400, the T400 was the best choice based on the fitting. Just couldn't find a combination to warrant the T200.

Specs were the same between both models. I was fit for them, and did initially like them on the range and in practice. It's just that in the real world, they just aren't nearly as forgiving as the AP2. Like i quoted above, even hitting the shorter irons a little high on the face would come up 10 yards short. Playing here in Florida, you get a lot of fluffy intermediate rough bermuda lies and i need to know my distances are gonna be somewhat consistent. Love the looks and the general feel of them, but with what should be improved weight distribution, I'm disappointed in the playability of them. Oh well.

Thanks for being honest Brock. I tried the T100 and T100s and just didn’t like them compared to my 718 ap2’s. The 718’s are sleek looking, nothing fancy with buttons, screws, sun dials, etc. haha!! I have hit ap2’s since the 714’s and I compare my 718’s to the miz MP60’s that were a great looking and feeling iron. I’m waiting for the next series to come out. I actually have 2 sets of 718’s, I like them that much.

I tried the T100s as well and had a similar experience. Saved my $ and kept playing the 718 AP2s, still plenty of life left in them.
  7. I feel the same
Bought some t100’s went back to the ap3’s

I really wanted to love T100, but the performance just isn't the same as the AP2 (718). I'm a pretty good ball striker (averaging 14.5 greens a round) but anything but the DEAD CENTER of the T100 is 10-15 yards short. A tad on the toe or a little high on the face, there just is no chance of it carrying the needed yardage. Went back to a set of AP2 and all is good again. Anybody else underwhelmed with them?

I have had nothing but outperformance in the T100 compared to my 718 AP2 irons. Did you get fit for the shafts? I noticed that I did need to go to slightly softer shaft in my T100 but outside of that the accuracy is amazing for me.

    IMHO,

I put the T100's in my bag last June, an upgrade from the 714 AP2's I had been playing. My experience has been tremendous with the T100's and have seen improved performance versus my previous irons.

Despite being 6 years older (52 now), I hit the T100's longer and the "cleaner" looks really fits my eye.
  10. I hope to try the T100's when fittings resume around here, but glad to hear you like you AP2's. I am enjoying mine as well.
  11. What shafts do you have in the t100’s vs shafts in the ap2?

Exact same shafts and specs in both.

Following up on this. In the last month, I have played tournaments with 4 other guys who had similar experiences with the T100 or T100S irons. They all complained of the same thing, of the clubs feeling "dead". One went back to AP2's, one moved to 620CB's, one switched to Apex 19's and i forget what the other had. So at least I know I'm definitely not the only one with these issues.

My detailed stats that i keep backed up the performance issues. Distance control, greens per rounds and proximity to the hole are significantly better with the AP2. Scoring average is back to normal as well obviously.
  14. Sometimes certain clubs just work better for certain players. I played the 681 blades for 15 years, switched to a 718 AP2/718 MB combo set before settling on the full set of T100's. The "dead" feeling you describe is actually a feature i like - i prefer to say "dense feeling" but i love the duller denser sound and feel. I have never noticed a distance loss on a miss and have hit more of my best shots in recent memory consistently and constantly with the T100. No complaints about the AP2, but I absolutely love the feel and performance from the T100 - to each their own.
  15. Jordan Spieth seems to be playing quite well with them.

But not as well as Patrick Cantlay with his AP2's.
  17. I really like my 718 AP2, as well. For a weaker player like myself they are still plenty playable and aren't going to terribly punish slightly poor contact.

I've looked at the T100 irons in person and and convinced the soles aren't going to be as fat/thin contact friendly as my AP2 plus the overall clubhead is a little more slimmed down. It's a miracle I get good results out of a club as small looking as the AP2, it would be too much to hope that a more trimmed down one would work out for me.

Guess I'll just wear the grooves off my AP2's like I did that set of DCI's I played for donkey's back in the day.

  20. Anyone using NS Pro 850 GH in their T100s ? Appreciate your comments , Currently still playing AP2 714 in NS pro950GH and wanting to change however with comments of not so forgiving is making me in two minds

Ap2 is a tough club to beat! I have not tried the new stuff yet, i like to keep my irons for a decent amount of time. When the time to upgrade comes, Its gonna be a tough battle. Im sure the new stuff is great, but there something about the shots you've had with your old clubs. Tough to replace!

Sometimes all it takes is a brief stay in the closet or garage to get them performing to expectations. It's gotten to to the point where I just have to threaten my Scotty and the 3 putts disappear.
Tough love, but gotta show them who's boss.
  23. Just got a set of T100 to replace (or support) 716CB. When I first took them out, I seemed to notice a slight distance loss, maybe 1/2 club. Now that I'm getting used to them and the different shafts in this set, I am pleased. Love the feel of flush contact.
  24. I too tried 2022 Titleist t100s great club looks everything you want an expected from Titleist. But if you don’t hit each shot perfect an are a digger best to go with t200 . In my opinion the t100 are a blade . Going back to my 718 ap2 néed some bounce.
