I am pretty new to Titleist other than playing their golf balls. I always thought the clubs were more geared to better plays. As I noted recently, I was fitted for T100 irons and could not get over the feel, consistency, and distance control. I am looking forward to getting those clubs in the coming days.
This weekend, I went for a driver fitting. I have an Epic Flash driver with a Hzardus Yellow shaft. I was all over the place with the driver due to high spin rate and I think the staff was not stiff enough. I would hit a lot of hooks and then occasionally big blocks to the right. I just could not get consistent and was convinced it was my swing.
I decided to do a driver fitting to figure out if a new driver would help. I tried a bunch of driver heads and shaft combinations. I hit so many balls and was exhausted.
I ended up getting fitted for a TSI3 8* driver head with the Hzardus Hulk 6.5TX shaft. I wanted to try that driver head but did not expect it to be right for me.
My Epic Flash average was 275 with spin rates near 4,000.
My TSI3 average was 315 with 2,700 spin rates. The Hulk shaft basically eliminated any hooks and my drives were basically straight and, if anything, a fade. I was able to draw the ball but really had to release the club. It felt like I would hook it but would end up being a 10-15 yard draw.
The TSI3 driver head was so solid. It felt like you crushed the ball. Even on mishits, I was only losing like 10-15 yards but the ball was going out there like 295. What an unbelievable club.
