I ordered T300 irons 5-W and have the new TSi2 driver. Does the Club Professional normally fit my FW, HY with the same driver shaft and the same iron shaft for the Vokeys? Also, how do they know whether to fit the player with a low lofted HY or high lofted FW? Is it based on the analytical data/distance and player’s swing (sweeper/digger)? Thanks.

Fitting are a team effort. You need to provide your fitter with your preferences during the analysis. Some players may prefer a fairway wood over a hybrid for various reasons and the fitter would not know. Same with wedge shafts. If you want them to match your irons, tell the fitter and they can compare that choice with the data and give you a recommendation. It's not unusually to see different shafts in different clubs. Check out professional's WITB and you will see a lot using mixed sets and mixed shafts. Play what works for you. Good luck.

Did you get fit for your irons and driver, or just order them? I believe the typical process is to fit the driver and FW woods together, hybrid and irons together and wedges separately. You might want to see how far you hit our 5 iron and then get fit for hybrids and FW woods to get the right distance gaps. I got fit for T200s last summer and have 4-GW. I am going to get fit for a 3W and hybrid now that I know how far I hit my 4 iron typically.

For the shaft on wedges, there are different schools of thought. The one I subscribe to is to match the shaft in the wedges you use for primarily full swings to your irons (I did this with my 52 degree) and go with the stock wedge flex for the club you use around the greens (I did this for my 56 degree). I do use the 56 degree for full swings and partial swings from the fairway but it is my primary club for around the greens so the stock wedge flex is preferable for that. BTW the SM8's are phenomenal. Although I say that every time Vokey rolls out new wedges.

Hope this helps. Hate to pull out the much repeated line of "you should get fit" but that is the best answer.

I was fitted for both irons and driver by Titleist Professionals using Trackman in two different sessions. They wanted me to play the clubs before adding FW and HY. I'm in good hands and appears your comments agree with their fitting style. It's exciting, fun, but exhausting to get everything put together. I've got FW/HY scheduled end of April and Vokey wedge scheduled in May. Thanks.

Smart move on your part and also the club fitter. You will be able to gap distances on both ends better.

Props to you for staying patient. It will pay off in the long run.

It is such a personal thing and depends largely on the relationship with your fitter and your ability to break a fitting up in chunks. I see folks going in for a total bag fitting and my hat is off to them - I just don't have enough consistent good swings in me to get through a whole bag.

For me, I break the fitting into Driver, FW separately, irons separately and wedges separately. I also separate the hybrid but for my this is a club that both gaps FW and 4 iron, but more importantly hits a 210 yard Par 3 we have here on my home course. For me the hybrid gets fit for decent angle almost as much as distance for this reason.

To your questions, I use the same shaft model (different specs and weight obviously) for Driver and Hybrid but my three wood is a different shaft. It was just how the fitting turned out. And interestingly while I have been playing the same shaft in my Driver for several models now, with TSi, the best fit was a new (to me) shaft). Irons and Wedges share the same shaft model though I use a different flex in my 62 degree wedge then the rest of the set - again more for feel and the 62 if rarely if ever used for full shots.

Bottom line, develop a solid relationship with your fitter and be open minded (i.e. receptive) to their input. And if you are not satisfied - try a new fitter. My two cents.
