Sorry if this has already been covered but I couldn't find the post if it has been. I currently game a TS2 with a Tensei AV 65-S shaft but am hoping to add a bit more distance(I'll be grabbing the next gen Titleist driver head next season when they come out) so I snatched up a Ventus Blue 6S with Velocore as I've heard rave reviews. I got it at a good deal so I don't mind if it doesn't really work for me and I didn't get a chance to rip it before buying. I was just wondering if anyone had made a similar switch or had any comparison between the 2. I'm 34 and swing in the 105 range with a fast transition for reference. Thanks in advance.

I had the Tensei AV Blue 55 stiff in a TS2, and swapped it out with a Ventus Blue Velocore 5R tipped 1/2" and playing 45" and it improved my numbers overall. A bit lower trajectory, improved accuracy, and more rollout.
Also have a Graphite Design AD VR5 regular that is tipped 1/2" and playing at 45" that gives me about the same trajectory as the AV Blue but more distance. Ended up giving away the Tensei shaft.
It took me a couple rounds to get the feel for the Ventus and that is my preferred choice, but really like the way the VR5 feels. Fun to switch them out every few weeks. It's like having 2 quality drivers to choose from. Also noticed that the VR5 works best with the ProV1x ball, whereas the Ventus works best with the AVX ball.

Had a Tensei Blue 55 S in my TSi 3 driver, but was seriously considering a Ventus Velocore Blue 5 or 6. After further research and testing, ultimately switched to Graphite Design Tour AD-IZ 5S. High launch, low spin. Best driver shaft I have ever used (for me). More yards, less dispersion, great feel. Wish I'd made the switch sooner.

And, fwiw, after being so thrilled with the IZ in my driver, I switched out my TSi 2 3W from a Tensei Blue 65S to a GD Tour AD DI 6S. Proved to be another good move for me. Also put at GD Tour AD-UT 85 S in my U500 utility iron earlier in the year. TSi 3 20* hybrid is next!!!

I appreciate the replies. I am waiting to have the adapter installed and work has kept me covered up so I haven't been able to do it yet. I'm a bit of a tinkerer when it comes to shafts. I hit my Tensei very well, a nice little cut that goes just as far as my friends that are hitting Epic's and Sim's but I've heard so much about the added distance and dispersion that I had to try the Ventus. If it doesn't work out I'll probably try out the New 1k Tensei line next; although im not as overwhelmed by that shaft as I expected to be. I will admit that I haven't hit too many Graphite Design shafts so I'd be interested there as well. I wouldn't need the high launch so I'll have to check out their shaft fitter. My all time favorite shaft was the Aldila VS Proto that I tipped 1/2" so I try to see which modern shafts have similar specs combined with new tech. There was just something about that VS Proto that I could bomb straight and it had that nice litte rise about 100 yards out where it looked like the ball took off like a rocket. I'll update once I get to hit the Ventus Velocore. Thanks again for all of the replies- keep hitting em straight!
  5. Albertville? I’m in Bham, we should play. I just got the Ventus Blue Velecore and really like it.

I hit the Ventus Blue yesterday at a fitting. I currently play the Tensei AV Blue Raw 65X. Hit the Ventus Blue 60X. It did not perform any better than the Tensei for me. Hard to justify a $350 upcharge on a shaft that gave me similar results to a on-hand one.

Part of the issue might be I have played the Diamana line for so long that I just know the shaft works for me. I have white boards in my fairways.

I hear the 2022 Tensei Blue with Xlink is supposed to be next level. Even tighter dispersion than before with the same feel as always.
  7. I just was playing AV Blue and was fit into GD Tour VR shaft…similar with tighter dispersion…
