  1. Good AM -

I have a TS3 9.5 degree driver with a Ventus Blue w/Velocore 6S shaft. I am short stature - 5’7” tall - so I prefer a driver that is 44.5”. If I take 1” off the butt end, how many swing weight points do I lose and can I buy a TS weight to bring it back to normal?

I went with the +2 weight with TS2 at 45" playing length, and that was after trying the standard, the +2, and the +4. The swing weight of the manufactured club is just an average of what works for the average golfer, so if you're fine tuning by going to a shorter shaft, you should try a variation of the swing weight as well. I suggest see if you can find a few and try them out for your best result. If you are going to buy them first, the weights are pretty cheap so get a few.

Maybe as many as 6 swingweight points. You will notice that. The question then is what weight is in the head currently. A rule of thumb is a 2 gram increase in the clubhead weight will increase swingweight one point. Hopefully Titleist makes a weight heavy enough. You can also change to a lighter grip. A 5 gram change in grip weight will probably change the swingweight by a point. Most people can't feel a two swingweight point change, but some can.

My TSi3 9.0* has a Ventus Blue 6x in it, playing at 44.75", tipped .5". I have the +4 blue weight (12 gram weight) from Titleist in it and my driver swingweights at D2. As far as I know, Titleist does not have an OEM weight for the TSi3 that weighs more than 12 grams. I wish they had a 14 or 16 gram weight.

I tried a 16 gram weight from Golfworks in my TSi3 and it brought my swingweight to D4.5. Too bad the weight broke the first round I used it. So I am relegated to a D2 swingweight with heaviest weight that Titleist offers.

Titleist customer service and support, do you have any 14 gram or 16 gram weights available? How do you get a heavier swingweight for Tour Players that play a shorter shaft or prefer a heavier swingweight? Hot melt? Thanks!

Congratulations on recognizing that you need a shorter length- lengths are just too long for even heights higher than you- 45" and shorter would benefit most golfers. The swing weight change at -1" is actually 12 points so a long way back to Titleist standard swing weight- lighter grip will help as per Thomas. I would contact customer service for their advice.
