Length of Titleist shafts

    Hi,

    I need help to understand how titleist measures length of their shafts and know if I need to return my custom order please.

    I've received Driver TSi2 / 4 fairway wood Tsi2 / 20° Hybrid TSi3.

    On paper, these clubs are supposed to be: 45.5 / 42.5 / 40.0 inches.

    When I measure from bottom of the grip to the very top of the shaft hosel, I get: 44.9 / 41.73 / 39.37.

    Do you know if drivers, FW, hybrids are measured the same way? Might look like a stupid question but when I compare these lengths to clubs from other brands with similar theoretical length, my titleist do not look short.

    My 4 FW TSi2 is as long as a 5 FW png G, which is supposed to be 42.5 as well.

    Do you think I should return these clubs, at least the 4 FW and the Hybrid? It would be really helpful if some of you have these clubs and could measure them as well to compare.

    To measure the playing length, lean the club against a wall at the specified lie angle and measure in line with the shaft from the end of the grip to the floor.

    The published length of Titleist clubs are measured as Barry suggests with the exception the length is measured without a grip so your measurement should be greater than the published length by 1/8" to 1/4 " - the length the grip cap varies between grip manufacturers. I lean a 48" ruler against a wall and with the ruler and club at the proper lie angle I measure the length to the top of grip and deduct as required.

    Received this from Titleist December 2017:

    The finished length of recent Titleist clubs would be the listed measurement plus the butt cap which varies by approximately 1/8-1/4". ie a 45" driver would be 45" plus the butt cap so anywhere between 45 1/8" to 45 1/4".

    I believe this applied today and most OEM club companies measure their clubs similarly.
