  1. Always appreciated the performance of Titleist products for most of my gear makeup; I like to game their balls, irons, wedges, hybrid, and other products...and their performance for me is clearly unmatched.

I choose to game a TM M2 driver and putter; still running with the Spider Tour double bend from years before! I can't help but personally notice though how much hype that scotty cameron putters receive from others who seem to use Titleist products a lot. Has anyone ever had the opportunity to game both, and why one would choose one over the other? Are the faces different? Is there something special that makes it worth the price tag? Is it worth the expensive upgrade? Or should I keep rolling with the Spider? Completely preference wise! I know they are both amazing products :)

You putter, just like your choice in driver, is a personal one and nothing we say here should persuade you to do anything except what you want to do (use). I am sure there are many loyal followers of that other manufacturer on their website (if they have one) and that's fine by me. Here you will find that most everyone is extremely satisfied with all the Titleist associated products and will tell you that there is nothing we like more that the sweet feel of a putt with a "scotty". Many are investments so the initial high price is more palatable knowing it's value will be retained for years to come. With more options in models it is also easier to find the one that works best you each individual.

Like Dale said, it's very much personal preference. Just because it works for others, doesn't mean it will work for you. Personally, I don't like the feel of the TM Spider putters, and I can't find a Scotty that suits my eye and my stroke. So i have another brand, and am very happy. That said, all major brands make quality products, but don't buy something for vanity... get something that makes you a better putter.

I agree with Dale. The putter is definitely a personal choice among many different factors. You're probably not gonna find anyone on here that says the spiders are a better product than the scotty camerons on this forum, but whatever makes you happy and play your best is what you should use!

Agree with everyone that your clubs are your personal choice and you should play with what gets you to the lowest score. That might even mean a mixed bag set up. Many tour pros have that.

As for Scotty over Spider and vise versa, you should remove cost as a variable. I have had many Scotty's over the years, some blade type, some mallet type also with different face inserts. Some Scotty's I have had work better than others so it shows even in the line itself there is lots of diversity. I can tell you that Scotty does make a head for every type of stroke.

I currently went back to my Squareback 2 from my X5.5 because I feel I am a better putter with the Squareback than X5.5.
  6. I’ve played both Scottys and spiders and it comes down to personal preference. I prefer the feel of a milled putter and struggled with the spiders on longer putts. Got a spider X at a great price 18 months ago and was taking 34/35 putts a round. Sold it and got a phantom x5.5 and was back down to 28 putts a round.

Even threw my t22 Newport in and still 28/29 putts a round. No change of ball or grip etc. Shows how personal putting is.

I chose the Spider Tour because I prefer a mallet style with no alignment aid and one simple color. If Scotty Cameron ever offered that, I would give them a try.

Never cared much for the appearance of the spider. Tried them in a fitting area at a shop near me and they did nothing for me. Have played with Bullseye, png, Cally, Evnroll Custom Built and numerous Scotties before finally settling in on the Special Select Newport 2. It reminds me of the Anser. I like what I can feel and score with. Think we all are in agreement. It is about personal choice and putting it in the hole. =)
