    Hi TT

Just a quick question has anyone seen any difference in the two irons? I know the s is stronger lofted but has anyone seen anything in performance.

I bought the T100s, I saw a little flatter flight and about 8 more yards distance between the 2 when I was fitted. At address they look the same, and the feel is identical.

Thanks Robert I was just wondering what peoples experience was as I heard of mixed reviews on the distance elements of the two clubs and I’ve even heard a review where the guy said the t100s felt softer because of the polymer slot in the back. But as with most reviews best to go out and see for yourself.

Polymer starts at 7 iron - the 8,9, PW and 48 do not have it. They are still soft feeling and the tungsten is in every iron I believe

There are basically the same iron. The same iron used in your, just stronger.

  6. There are substantial performance differences between the two models, stemming from, but not solely because of the loft difference. I'm going to break it up between the 3-7 iron and 8-pw because there are different technologies being utilized in those clubs.

In the 8-pw, the only difference between T100 and T100s is loft. T100s being 2* stronger (less loft). The lower loft will produce (assuming proper strike conditions) lower launch, lower spin, slightly higher ball speed (less loft=more efficient energy transfer) all adding up to more distance.

In the 7 iron up, the differences are more pronounced, technologically, between the two models.

We still have 2* less loft than the T100, but we also have the Muscle Channel, which removes dense, heavy material (steel) from the middle part of the club allowing that weight to be redistributed lower in the club, using more tungsten than T100, resulting in a CG lower than in the T100. This helps compensate for the lower loft. Lowering loft without moving CG lower would result in lower launch. By lowering CG and loft in tandem, the club can produce similar shot height and stopping power to a higher lofted iron, while also producing the distance gains associated with lower loft. This is particularly beneficial in the longer irons, which most players struggle to launch high enough.

The addition of the Muscle Channel also allows the face of the iron the flex very slightly at impact (like a driver does) which further enhances ball speed. The polymer fill absorbs vibration so the strike feels very much like a solid iron (same reason hollow cavity irons like T200, TM 790, etc. have poly fill).

The face flexion and lower CG of T100s also improve forgiveness over T100 (in 7iron+). I find the difference is most noticeable on thin strikes, less so on heel/toe strikes.

So, T100s is not just about producing an iron that is longer than T100 by reducing loft. Particularly in the longer irons, they are significantly different designs with very different performance characteristics. It is longer, yes, but it is also more forgiving and improves launch conditions in the longer irons.
