  1. Hey all, recently changed my irons which have lower lofts and created a bit of a gap after my longest iron.

Already replaced my 3 hybrid with a u500 3 iron so looking at either a 7 wood or 4 hybrid.

Anyone compared both and which did you go for? Any pros/cons you found?

I was at one time but not long ago tried to compare woods vs hybrid- which I like them both for their own characteristics.

The fwood flies higher and has a nice one hop stop onto the green. The hybrid has a lower flight so I did have a little more roll when it landed on the green.

Other things that I liked about hybrid is the times when I’m in a rough, I’m able to get out with ease. it isn’t that easy with the fwood. I liked that the hybrid had another specialty shot purpose.

Other things to consider are the green surface of the course(s) you play. On soft receptive greens, the hot approach landing of the hybrid may hold well, however, on hard surface greens, the roll may be excessive and that’s when the fwood may be an advantage.

Good luck with your search and keep us all posted with your future club selection.

I tried both obviously and ended up with the hybrid- choosing the lower flight.
