So, did a head to head test with my T100s and T200 irons. I used a Mevo+ and am hitting into a net in my yard…it’s currently in the low 40s. Also using the ProV1x RCT ball. I was able to get the club speeds to be identical to get a better test…interesting results. Though the overall numbers were better across the board for the T200 irons, they don’t feel anywhere near as nice as the T100s irons…I’ve swapped around the shafts too with the three shafts I’m testing…Project X LZ 6.0, LA Golf Tour AXS 85R, and TT AMT S300. Results pretty much match. The only difference is the dispersion with the three shafts being different weights.

Hi Peter, which irons did you end up going with? What is your handicap?

I think I’m going with 5 iron in the T200, T100s for the rest. However, I’m testing shafts now so we’ll see how that goes. I’d like something to get me more height…as you can see, I’m around 65 feet or so with the 8i. Would like to see that higher…With the AMTs, the black or red should give me that height, but every time I try them I don’t like the feel…same with the Project LZ when I try the 5.5…I can’t feel the golf club as well with those lighter shafts. But, I may just go with the AMT red and Project X 5.5 for the winter and see if I can get used to them. I’m 53 now and have had both hips replaced, so I don’t see my swing speed getting too much faster over winter training. I do have a rather short and abrupt swing, think Jon Rahm, so the stiffer shafts suit be better. the AMT White is about 115g at the 7 iron (gets heavier by 3g going towards the wedges for each cub and 3g lighter the other direction per club), and the Project X LZ 6.0 is 120g shaft as well. Might just see if I can step it down over the winter and slowly work down from a 115g to 110g to something around 100g…I usually just go to Golf Galaxy by me, test a few combos that look to work, then buy a shaft of a couple that I like, install them, and play around on the 7 or 8 iron on the launch monitor at home. Keeps me out of the bars. Might be a frustrating winter, or a very productive one!

Sorry, forgot to answer Q2. My current handicap is around a 12. Mostly because I can’t play as much due to my dual hip replacements (last one just over a year ago), so scoring is a bit erratic lately….will shoot 80 one day and 95 the next! Biggest issue is off the tee since I can’t really hit too many drivers on the range anymore. Short game has saved me this season…my last round I was a 26 HCP off the tee and a +6 with the short game! LOL…BUT, just got fitted for the new TSR3 driver and it is absolutely awesome! Can’t wait to get it on a live course. So much better than my previous SIM2 driver…

I just got T200 AMT Tour White X100 since I got a really good deal on them. Yes, they don't feel good, they sound pretty terribly clicky and loud, and I can't really tell where I miss hit balls. But, I'm not a great golfer and the forgiveness has been significantly better than my MB/CB combo I've been playing. Yesterday I low heeled a 4i to a 207yd flag and it ended in the fringe pin high...It sounded like I hit a plastic easter egg with a pickle ball paddle. Haha

I was hitting the T200 PW like 140yds though... so I had the 7-PW weakened back a degree.
I took a 46 Vokey out of the bag because It was going 125yds and my 50 is going 118yds. The gapping also fit my the long end better as my old CB 4i was going 200 and my 3i/hybrid is around 230. I hit the T200 4i 215-220, 220+ off the tee.
Do I wish I went with T100S? yes... Has the T200 forgiveness saved me strokes?... yes, yes, yes
It does feel okay, and feels like a rocket when you pure it, but will I get over the sound? Who knows, but I'm going to have to deal with it because these aren't leaving my bag.
