  1. Trying to decide between the two clubs. Any thoughts or suggestions on the best way to go?

Please don't listen to any of us because it really boils down to what works best for you. The ideal way to find that out is to have a proper fitting by a Titleist filter, hitting both and maybe different lofts and shafts until you find what you are needing. Some people prefer the hight they get from a fairway club and other prefer the versatility of a hybrid. You can always get both and alternate in the bag depending on the course and conditions you play each day. Hope you find what works best for you.

Assuming you can hit both equally well, the 18 degree 5W should go further. With the standard length shaft, even the 21 degree 7W will be longer than the 21 degree hybrid.

What do you need this club for? Is there a distance gap to fill? The smaller head hybrid is easier to get out of deeper rough. Once you have a goal, find a fitter to solve the issue.

I had/have a 23 818, 21 TS, and an 18 TSi hybrids. Not enough gap to continue all 3. When seeing a fitter to distance gap, dialed the 23 818 to 25, took out the 5I, dialed the 18 TSi to 20 degrees, took out the TS, and kept the 4W TSR at 16.5. There is now 12-15 yards between all metal woods. Point being I had a plan in mind. While I was prepared to consider adding a TSR 7W, the fitter helped me solve the issue and avoided selling equipment.
  5. I have both 18 degree 5 wood and 21 degree 4 hybrid. The 3 degrees loft and longer shaft 5 wood gap really well. My 2 cents
  6. I was stuck with the same issue, i have been and tested, loved the lower flight of the 5 wood and the forgivness the hybrid gave me, so ended up with a hybrid with a lower spin shaft
  7. I'm not sure that's an "or" question. 5w is 18 degrees and would likely go much further than the 21* hybrid. If you only have room for one, need to ask yourself what gap you are trying to fill and go from there. I personally have the TSR2 21* and just went back and also bought the 18* because the gap between my 3w and hybrid was too great.

The only way to know is go to a Golf Pro and hit both. Hybrids have a iron type swing versus a fairway wood. I hit both years ago and the hybrid had more forgiveness and fit my steep swing way better than the 5W.
  9. The biggest thing should be what you are looking to achieve with each club then that should dictate your decision

It is also up to you how you hit each club as everyone is different

21.0 7 wood. Went this way during the TSR Fittings. 7 wood has become an absolute weapon to attack greens over 200 yards out. Easy to elevate too. Never going back.

Agree totally with Dale. Go see a fitter. None of us on this site hit those clubs the same or are we qualified to do an online fitting. Do yourself a favor and do the right thing. Saves you money in the long run. They are good clubs, but get them to match your swing and distances.
