  1. Looking at adding the 60-04 T to the bag. During drought seasons we tend to get very firm and tight lies on approaches and around the geeens. People often refer to it as “hitting off the parking lot” because it’s almost concrete. Does anyone have any experience with this wedge? Currently in the bag: 50-08F 54-12D 58-08M

Yes. I am a sweeper - I can move a ball out of a bunker without taking any sand - just have always had that type of swing. I had an SM9 04L and I felt it was clunky - wedges today way different than the past - you may as well call a sand wedge today a 12 iron because guys hit them like just another iron in the bag but guess you have to if you hit a PW 160 and a sand iron 130 so I think that is why they are more iron like. I like a knife like wedge so now have the 60T - it is better- not like an older wedge say an SM4 ( but that had square grooves ) but it was thinner and less iron like. I think the 60T is the lowest bounce you can get

I play in similar conditions for about 3 months out of the year and have had a 60.04 T in the bag for 2 seasons now (actually on my 4th wedge). They are excellent when it's firm but, depending on your chipping technique they can really dig even on firm turf. If you know how to use the back of the flange and access the bounce in the wedge, they are very very versatile but they do come with a learning curve. My wedge makeup is also a bit different being that I don't carry a gap wedge so, I have 2 60's in the bag at all times because, I find that the T grind floats a bit too much on fuller shots for me. My wedge makeup is 620MB PW( bent to 48) 56.12D 60.04T and a 60.10S
  5. I got a 58 degree T Grind earlier this year. It's excellent when the turf is firm, on hard packed bunkers, and even out of the rough. When the fairways are soft it digs on me a lot, so I need to be careful before each round when selecting the 58 D Grind or T Grind.

I recently switched to an SM9 58° T Grind from an SM8 58° M Grind. The T Grind does work better on tighter lies but I also find it very usable in the fairway and around the green.

I did this as more of a trial run as I've heard good things about the T Grind. So far, I'm happy with the change.

I have a played a 58k grind for years and love it. In the summer months, I play on a lot of courses with very firm and tight lies, and the K grinds high bounce and higher leading edge can make those shots a little more difficult.

I thought I would try the T grind as it is a low bounce option w a versatile sole, and seems to be very popular on tour…..I did not get fit or try one first, but I know my club specs so I ordered one. For me it has been a very difficult wedge to hit. It requires a lot of precision and is pretty unforgiving when not hit perfect. On tight lies, any slight chunk digs, and in thicker rough it can slice right under the ball and hit high on the face. I’m by no means a professional, but I have a better than average short game, but find the T grind not as easy to hit as other grind options. I would highly suggest getting fit or at least trying the T grind before buying. IMO (which doesn’t count for much) it is a very unique grind for a small portion of golfers. Just don’t be like me and buy one because JT and Spieth use them and you want a wedge for tighter lies. As we all know, the moral of the story is go get fitted and let a professional help you find the best grind for your swing type.

I have had it since it came out. Very versatile club that you can play off of any lie. You will love it.
